Roto-Rooter provided excellent service when I had to call them out for a drain back up. They did a great job! They came out the next day and they were professional from start to end. They worked on the problem and made sure that I understood about the problem and the steps it was taking to get it done. I could not be happier with the work that was done and would highly recommend them to anyone.

This review is for two pieces of working with Roto Rooter: 1) the customer service who handled our phone call and "scheduled" the service, 2) the technicians who actually arrived and did the work.
First, the bad. Our basement had backed-up and filled with sewage. Blech. We called more than one place to see who could come fastest. Rotor Rooter appeared to be our bet. The customer service folks we called were horrible. The promised service within 3 hours. 3 hours later we get a call that it'll be AT LEAST another 1-2 before someone comes. Suddenly we felt like we'd be had. It took forever for our technician to arrive, WELL beyond what the initial customer service rep had promised. But, what could we do at that point?
Second, the good. When our technician arrived, he was awesome. The first person I'd talked to all day who actually seemed to understand what was going on. The City had been making mistakes and suggesting things that not only didn't work, but were flat our wrong. Our technician got things going and found the source of our problem. Thank goodness. I'd easily choose our technician again and again. I'm not so sure about the customer service. But, I've only had to use them once. Everyone has bad days.

Roto-Rooter Plumbers 9/17/2012
After having my problem mis-diagnosed repeatedly by another plumbing service, I called Roto-Rooter and received a visit very quickly and my problem was diagnosed within an hour. The plumbers were extremely friendly and professional (Sean Townsend and his associate). I will be using them again for any future plumbing issues.

At the end of last week, the main drains in my condo building were almost completely clogged, resulting in water backing up in the kitchen, laundry and both bathrooms. I had a friend look at the problem, but the situation definitely required extensive professional attention. One drain, as I knew from past experience, required the Condo Association removing one of my kitchen cabinets to provide access to the main line.
(We are on the eastern side of Cincinnati, but I scheduled through the main 800 phone number, so I don't know which office was involved.)
I scheduled Roto-Rooter for yesterday morning, because they had been able to resolve our similar drain problems in the past. The two techs that arrived were pleasant and efficient, and got right to work. Another very nice tech, Brent, arrived to use a camera to scan the lines outside, and showed the results to me and the Condo president; it turned out that two main lines were clogged, both the responsibility of the Condo Association.
I also asked Sean and Chris to replace my faucet in the kitchen, and they purchased and installed one I actually like better than the broken that I had chosen myself. By the end of the afternoon, my water problems were GONE, and I was able to use my sink, laundry and both bathrooms. I had been SO upset, and by the time Roto-Rooter left, I felt as if I had my life back!
Sean Townsend, the lead technician handling the main drain running under the kitchen, went far beyond my expectations. He made sure that every detail was handled with honesty, dispatch and courtesy. They all were also very neat, and tried to put things back in place as much as possible. I would NEVER call another company to take care of this kind of problem, and will request this technician when I call in the future. Excellent work and a job well done!

Roto-Rooter Plumbers, 6/25/12 -- We needed a plumber in Cincinnati today, called with basement floor drain issue and Kevin and his trainee were at the house within half an hour. They did great work, were very straightforward about the situation and pricing, and left the area clean and dry. We were also able to use the $40 off any service coupon which helped with the cost.

Called yesterday for an emergency and Kevin Finley and James came right away (faster than a pizza) After giving us an estimate and us trying to auger it ourselves we called back on Sunday and requested Kevin and James. They were to our house quick as a flash (within 40 min of us calling) stayed for over 2 hours and got us back to good!!! To me it was more than worth it to pay $225 (end price after finding our $40 off service coupon) They were extremely friendly, professional, and thorough!! Great guys to have on your team! Thanks!! Will recommend you to family and friends!!

We called Roto-Rooter (Cincinnati) with an emergency for our septic system, on 6/11/12 and they arrived quickly and professionally. The gentlemen, Bill & William, who took the call were very nice and knowledgeable and explained all the different options we could do so fix our problem. After discussing our options we were very happy to have them come back out to fix our septic. I would recommend them to anyone needing plumbing service.

The plumbers were clean, courteous, and very helpful. They did a great job, cleaned up their mess, and gave us information to help prevent the same thing from happening in the future. One of the best plumbing companies in Cincinnati.

Our garbage disposal broke on Memorial Day weekend. We couldn't run our dishwasher or kitchen sink without it. We called Roto-Rooter on Sunday night and they scheduled us for 8-10 the next morning. The dispatcher called and said the plumber would be there within 30-40 minutes. 1 hour 15 minutes later and still no plumber. I called back and they called the plumber while I was on the phone. Plumber was friendly and did a good job in a short amount of time. A bit pricey, but I would have paid more for holiday pay at a different service. Will use again!

Sean, Nick, Tom and Mike went out of their way to right the wrong that Chuck caused.
Tom emptied the septic box.
Sean and Nick unclugged the lines and were friendly, knowledgable and quick.
Mike, the Manager, was apologetic and professional for the mishap with Chuck.
I will always call Sean Townsend for my plumbing needs. They turned a horrible situation into a pleasant experience and made the bad go away.
Thank you to all that helped us. My family is very appreciative.

I contacted Roto Rooter because I had a clogged outside drain pipe. The lady on the phone said that the trip was free and she could have someone out that evening. That was not the case. When Roto Rooter finally arrived they severely over charged my to snake my pipe and run a camera to identify the location of the issue. When they found it was a broken pipe, the field manager gave me a ridiculous quote of over $3,000 to fix a pipe that was 1' 6"" under ground. I had the issue fixed by a plumber in Cincinnati today for $450. Do not pay the crazy amounts they charge. Roto Rooter is owned by Chem Ed, and they charge a huge amount to pay for the downtown building. Choose your local plumber, not a company that charges absorbant amounts. Roto Rooter Stinks.

If a friend needed a plummer I would tell them to contact Roto-Rooter because they give the best service in town, I had a hot water heater that broke all it took was one call and my problems were corrected. I called them on 5/07/12, It was so late that I asked them if they could come the next day and I shut down my tank, The next day as promissed a very pleasant and proffesional plummer showed up as promissed and explained what had happened to my water heater, Without delay he changed the water heater, If I ever need a plummer again it will be Roto-Rooter from 2125 Montana Avenue Cincinnati OH. I thank him for such a pleasant and professioal job.
My yard drains were clogged. We have a wooden shed that was getting ruined.
I tried to clear them out myself, but after several holes and mud everywhere, I knew I had to call in professionals.
Within a couple of hours Roto-Rooter responded with a very responable an professional technician.
Within an hour the clog was located and my problem solved.
I will recommend them in the future.
I'll start with the bad parts first. Don't count on them calling you til it's almost time for them to get there, and given their two hour window, they showed up at the end of it, not the beginning. Be prepared for that.
One other thing they did was to try to sandbag my expectations. I knew where the clog was, though, since I had tried to get rid of it myself, so I knew once he got started and got to the clog that it would clear up.
The guy who came to clean my drain, Andy, was very friendly and courteous. Once he got the machine started it was only about five minutes 'til that magical ""whoosh"" sound of the water rushing away, sucking air through the drain had come. Since it was a flat rate job, he stuck around to make sure the whole thing was cleaned out, slowly all the way out and back. He said that otherwise, although they're told to go in by hand and let the retractor pull it out, that otherwise a plumber could go right past a root ball and miss it.
I'd call these guys again.
