Dr Haines has given me a new outlook on life. Prior to surgery, I was limited in my activities. Since my recovery, my activity level is limitless.

This was my 2nd cervical fusion experience and Dr. Haines addressed everything the prior experience lacked. From pre-op preparation from top to bottom to post-op transitioning on care and recovery, he made sure that there would not be any surprises. Dr. Haines and his team made me feel like a family member and not a patient.

I love visiting Dr Haines and everyone in the office, even with my fear of doctors. After almost a year of back pain due to a herniated disc, I did stem cell treatment with Dr Haines. Not only was the procedure a success, but every follow up appointment has been simply delightful. Very efficient, always on time, but also we talk about family and travel and anything else. I feel like he is so sincere when he says to call whenever, and the office staff has always been so kind.

Dr Haines is absolutely the only one l trust with my spine/back. He listens to you explain your pain, He recommends a procedure with the knowledge that was beyond anything i had ever experienced before. I was completely immobile prior to my surgery and now l feel like a rock star. Thank you so much for giving me my life back!

my pain was unbearable when I came to Dr Haines for my initial visit I was in tears and could not stand up straight His compassion and empathy for my situation was evident in the way he treated me from expediting the surgery, to the way he talked to me. He was able to assure me I would be okay even though i was scared before surgery.

The first question Dr. Haines asked me was, "What do you want to do?". This was so refreshing after dealing with what I was unable to do for so long. His staff and PAs were great to work with. Wonderful experience, I don't trust my spine issues with anyone else. My only regret is having the artificial disc fail resulting in the fusion. Looking back I should have just gone with the fusion 5 years ago.

Came to Dr Haines with some major back pain that ended up being a herniated disc. Instead of having spinal fusion surgery, we talked and decided to move forward with stem cell treatment (after some PT). 3 months later and I'm feeling great, and have gotten back to my exercise and life routine from before the back pain. The entire system at Virginia Spinal Institute is more than worth the cost of the treatment, and I would highly recommend it to everyone

Dr. Haines was able to diagnose my issue with 1 visit. He performed a spinal fusion on my lumbar spine and within 4 months from having the surgery I feel better than I have in years. Truly an amazing Dr, wish I would have found him a few years ago!!!

Dr. Haines and the staff at VSI have been wonderful. Provided clear and understandable details and expectations for all available treatment options and listened to my concerns. We selected a path forward and for the first time in nearly 2 decades I am pain free, no longer do I deal with daily lower back pain!

Diagnosis was accurate, and his confidence in the conclusiveness of the symptoms allowed me to avoid a painful diagnostic discography procedure. This saved weeks of time in getting to the surgical treatment. Dr. Haines was able to implant the spacer for the fusion, as well as stabilizing screws & brace, without cutting any muscle. This allowed rapid recovery and being off of narcotics in days after surgery.

A superb surgery. So many things could go wrong with such a complicated surgical intervention, and none did. What Dr. Haines and his PAs told me would happen, over time, did happen. I am ecstatic about the results of this surgery. i have crawled out of a dark hole and emerged again. Bravo to Dr. Haines and his great team: all of them so thoughtful, focused, and expert.

I had a great experience with Dr. Haines as he helped me with my herniated disk. He took time to explain to me what is my diagnosis , the process to fix it and listen to my questions. I did go to another doctor just to get a second opinion but I felt more confident and comfortable with Dr. Haines. I would recommend his practice to anyone who will need this kind of surgery.

I saw Dr. Haines based on a recommendation from a colleague and am so glad I did. This hybrid surgery solved nerve pain issues I had been living with for years and corrected a structural risk to my spinal cord to set me up for the rest of my life. I cannot say enough good things about my experience.
