Dr. Cook is a board-certified dermatologist who enjoys combining his love of patient care with his passion for science. This combination enables him to provide patients with the kind of information they need to have the best outcomes possible. At DermOne, Dr. Cook treats patients who have a wide variety of skin conditions and diseases, including inflammatory conditions, infections, aging-related issues, skin cancer and autoimmune disorders. Dr. Cook also has additional training in Mohs surgery the most precise and technical method to remove skin cancer from the body and practices this type of surgery at the Clinton office. Drawn to the science behind excellent skin care, Dr. Cook completed a one-year melanoma research fellowship at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL, before beginning his dermatology residency. The results from his teams studies were presented at the 2011 International Melanoma Congress and published in the Journal of Pigment Cell and Melanoma Research. Dr. Cook has also studied new treatment options for seborrheic keratosis (noncancerous growths); he was the principal investigator on a new photodynamic therapy option for the treatment of this disease. In addition, Dr. Cook enjoys giving back to his profession and teaches dermatology residents from Sampson Regional Medical Center.I love dermatology because the skin allows an external depiction of internal illness.
