Provided by YP.comWe're not the greatest experts on Indian food, but Taj served some of the best we've eaten. Not the best ... Handi in Falls Church takes that prize ... but it was still wonderful. Nothing fancy about this little place on M Street. Inexpensive as Georgetown restaurants go, and tend to get crowded very early.

Provided by YP.comI wanted a good world cuisine for lunch and I was very pleased. The samosa were wonderful. The chicken Vindaloo was spicy and flavorful; Just perfect. Great service, pleasant atmosphere. I will return next time in town.

Provided by YP.comNot much more to say. The service was great, fast and super friendly. I love Indian food but I'm not an expert. That being said, I liked their food and so did the rest of my family. The place is really cozy and just comfortable and nice in general.

Provided by YP.comI've been many times. The food is consistently great and the service is always friendly and attentive. And, though it's usually got a good number of customers in it, there's rarely a wait. Sometimes they can be sort of pushy with the wine, but despite this I recommend it highly.

Provided by YP.comThe two Thali (veggie or meat) dishes never disappoint. It's a sampler platter served on a giant frisbee-like plate. The service is always excellent as well.

Provided by YP.comThe owner and staff are personable . The owner ran out in the middle of a rain storm to hail a cab for a couple of women! Awesome service.I recommend you book your reservation on their website, it was so simple.

Provided by YP.comI have never eaten in the actual restaurant itself, I have only called in for take out. This is the best Indian food in DC in my opinion. If it tastes as good as it does with it being take out I can only imagine how good it is in the place itself. I always get this chicken and spinach dish. They also have really good naan.

Provided by YP.comBy far the best Indian Food I've found in DC. The Shrimp Biryani is amazing and now I can't help but order it every time I go. The shrimp and vegetables are so fresh! I also love their garlic Nann. The servers have been friendly every time I've been there.

Provided by YP.comOne of the best (if not the best) Indian restaurants that I've been to in the Washington DC metro area. Leaps and bounds better than the chain Indian restaurants (eg Tandoori Nights; Delhi Dhaba). Some of my primary recommendations would include: Malai Kofta (vegetarian meatballs in a light cream/tomato sauce); Lamb Briyani (a savory rice dish with tender bits of lamb) and Tandori chicken. The dishes combine a unique array of flavors and spice to create a top knotch Indian dining experience.

Provided by YP.comAs someone who has a deep appreciation for fine Indian food and having dined at some of the highest rated Indian restaurants in London, I whole-heartedly recommend Taj of India. The quality of service was outstanding, as was the meal. I ordered the Chicken Korma and Chicken Tikka Masala, two of my favorites, and I was blown away by the flavor. My boyfriend and I also ordered the Peshwari Naan, and we were literally in awe of how great it tasted (seriously, it's $3.50, so there is no reason why you shouldn't try this). We were pleased with the pricing as well, considering it is located on the main strip in the heart of Georgetown. This restaurant is an absolute must for locals and tourists alike.

Provided by YP.comHands down the best Indian restaurant in the district! It's similar to the Indian food in London which is rich, creamy, and sweet. The butter chicken here is awesome the best I've ever had and I'm always on the hunt for sweet, creamy butter chicken. I'm not the greatest fan of spice. It's not authentic Indian, not as spicy because it caters to people with a low spice threshold but who enjoy Indian food. Samosas are fresh, naan is awesome and butter chicken, butter chicken, butter chicken!!!

Provided by YP.comAs someone who eats Indian frequently I found this establishment to be good and reasonably priced for Georgetown. While I have had better Nan bread, overall the mean was good and about $45 for two with alcohol.

Provided by YP.comI am so happy right now. Finally an Indian restaurant worth going to in this area. The food is excellent along with the service. There is not a Indian restaurant this nice anywhere around here. If you enjoy Indian, this is the best in the area by far!
