Laurie handles dogs with gentleness, understanding and love. She has an extensive education and knowledge in the field of dog training and has an uncanny ability with dogs. Laurie tuely understands dogs and their behavior and dogs respond to her calm, kind manner. Our two dogs adore her and are joyful when they see her! We have one very shy, fearful dog and Laurie bonded with her immediately. We trust Lauie with our precious dogs when we go out of town, she always takes excellent care of them and our home. We feel fortunate to have found Laurie's Stuart Pet Pals.

I've worked in the veterinary medical field for 20 years, and I thought there wasn't a dog out there that I couldn't handle. But I met my match when we adopted Joe, an adult Golden retriever that developed troublesome behavior that brought me to my wits end. But Laurie got us through it. Joe learned what was right and wrong through positive, fun and loving interaction. He didn't even know she was changing his behavior because he had such a good time with her. Joe's behavior problem, at times, was quite an emotional strain on me, and Laurie did such a good job at helping me to stay calm and to have hope that things would get better. And they did!!! Laurie is a true professional, always courteous, calm, and compassionate. I would recommend her to my family and friends. From the first phone call I knew she was the right fit to help our family come together. She had a packet tailored to my needs on the first visit. I have a 6 month old black lab (Darla). She came to me at four months of age as a very active and hyper typical lab. Within four visits Darla was able to understand our language. She could sit, stay, down, stay, stop jumping soooooooo much, and walk like a lady on a leash. I can even take her to the park around other dogs and children. She no longer walks me around the park. I was also able to take her around my family at Christmas and no one got pounced. She has brought order to my home. Thanks Laurie.

Laurie of Stuart Pet Pals provides a great in home training program. She is someone who truly loves dogs and loves educating dog owners. When we acquired our 5 month old puppy from the Humane Society we didn't have a clue what we were doing. We called Laurie that first weekend, based on a recommendation. Since we couldn't start training for a couple of weeks, Laurie spent an hour on the phone with us getting us started on crate training and how to introduce our dog to our home. She designed an in home training program for us and she provided us with a wealth of information on the care and training of our breed. We loved her program and would definitely use her again and recommend her services.

Laurie Volpe boarded and trained my boxer puppy for over ten days. She is an incredibly professional dog trainer and the experience was wonderful. She was reliant, attentive, concientous and is a true dog lover. I would highly recommend her to anyone and would certainly utilize the services of Stuart Pet Pals in the future.

Stuart Pet Pals went way way beyond my expectations with my Westie, Jackson. I quickly learned that I needed to be part of the solution as well; and I got the support and directions necessary for changes in Jackson's behavior.

I was very comfortable leaving him in Stuart to get the initial training ( I live in Ft. Lauderdale) . Then it was back to me, and I got all the help long distance until I was ready to bring Jackson back for more intense work. Having a well behaved dog is incredible - don't miss out!

From the moment Laurie first arrived our two Vizslas, Wilbur and Ginger, knew who was boss (and it wasn't me!). Over several months Laurie worked with me to become the benevolent boss of my two canine family members. I no longer get THE LOOK which of course meant they'd listen to me when they were good and ready. Not only is our home a happier place but I really believe Wilbur and Ginger are happier knowing their "pack leader" is a leader and can't be pushed around any more. Respect is a wonderful thing!!! I really like Laurie's method of training which is kind and gentle but firm. She is an easy person to have around your home, she is very knowledgeable and her teaching style is pleasant but most importantly Wilbur and Ginger LOVE her too.

Laurie Volpe loves dogs. And because she loves them so much, she knows them. I have used Laurie both to take care of my dogs when I travel -- which is frequent -- and to train a new puppy that was a maniac to put it mildly. What a pro.



With the puppy she was able to calm her down, make her happy and then teach her valuable lessons that have changed her life and mine. From a dog who would not listen to the simplest command, she can now do everything from sit/stay to leave it to G.I. Joe -- crawling on her belly like a solider in combat and after only four lessons!



The entire time Laurie trained her, she gave her positive reinforcement and kept the training upbeat. My little dog would happily go through her paces for up to two hours!



I just can't say enough positive things. I have had people help me care for my dogs for more than 20 years and none have been as conscientious and postive as Laurie. When I come home from a trip, my dogs are happy. They have been brushed, have gotten tons of exercise and plenty of attention.

When I contacted Laurie, I was at the end of my rope.



Let me first say that I am an experience dog owner, and have successfully owned and trained eight dogs. Having said that, this is my story.



Before Christmas, I impulsively purchased a four month-old Westie puppy from a pet shop ( I do know better). She was an adorable, tiny, quiet, affectionate little bundle of joy in desperate need of a good home. She would be a perfect playmate and companion for our 9 year-old Westie, Tyler. We named her Bella.



Within a month, we had a new name for her. BELLA FROM H-E-L-L-A...



This sweet puppy had turned into a destructive, biting, chewing, jumping, barking, peeing and pooping pain-in-the-you-know-what with a particular penchant for using our expensive carpets for her personal use, even though she was crated from day one.



She completed changed the dynamic of our quiet household. My husband hated her and avoided any contact at all. Whenever he tried to pet her, she'd bite and jump at his face. Tyler couldn't escape as easily, and I was concerned that her sharp little baby teeth would tear his beautiful ears. She chewed the legs of an antique desk and tried to chew the knot out of a pine floor. Her favorite trick was to unravel all the toilet paper in the bathrooms (we have four). I was spending a fortune on Charmin. Taking her for a walk was an exercise in masochism; she pulled and tugged her way and mine around the entire neighborhood.



We were literally days away from getting rid of her. In desperation, I called Laurie.



She made time for us immediately.



The first day she walked into our home, Bella came at a full run and jumped on her. But Laurie was prepared. She shook a soda can filled with coins at Bella, who immediately dropped to the ground at this loud, unpleasant noise. Getting up her courage, she tried again to jump on her newest friend, who again shook this coin-filled can at her. Bella dropped to the floor again, and that was the last time she jumped on Laurie.



Then Bella decided if she couldn't jump on Laurie, she could at least bite her to say hello. Laurie quickly put the kabosh on that with a quick move to the puppy's mouth to press her lip against her tooth. That was also the last time she ever bit Laurie.



By the end of the first session, Bella could sit and lie down on command, and was well on her way to "no jumping or biting" and I got some much needed advice on how to deal with a puppy who refuses to be housebroken. Over the new four weeks, Bella had stopped biting, almost stopped jumping, learned to walk like a good girl on a leash, not to bark as much or as long, stay, come, and by and large, not use the house as her toilet.



I love, Love, LOVE Laurie and so does Bella. The Bad Bella is gone, hopefully for good. Is she still a playful, happy puppy with lots of energy, and still wanting to get into mischief? Of course. She's a terrier. But that's the great thing. Laurie was able to teach me to teach Bella to be that good girl, without breaking her spirit or making her fearful.



My husband loves her now. Tyler too. She is becoming a positive addition to our family. It takes time to mold a puppy into a well-behaved member of the household. But with Laurie's help, we're getting there.



It was the best investment I've ever made.

Laurie is great. I was having leadership issues with my miniature goldendoodle. She gave me numerous training tips and really helped me regain the leadership role with my dog. I would recommend Laurie to anyone with ANY dog issue. She makes training very enjoyable, my dog loves her too!!

We feel so lucky to have Laurie to depend on when we need to go out of town. As the owners of an "intimidating" Rottweiller, getting away was very difficult. Not just anyone will walk into our house & the idea of our Trekker spending an entire weekend in a cage was painful. All three of our dogs love Laurie & don't even seem to mind when we leave anymore. Laurie has proven to be very organized, dependable & professional. She always does more than I would expect, & our dogs' behavior has improved during the past 9 months that she has been pet sitting. I found SPP on a business card- we were in need of a pet-sitter for our 2 catahoulas. We had used kennels in the past but really wanted to find a sitter to come to the house. After our first meet & greet; I knew we had found the perfect sitter/trainer. And after the trip we schedule a private training session to work on leash skills. After only one training session we had great improvment. We have used SPP for all of our pet sitting and have even taken a dog training class. I am always handing out business cards and recommending Laurie and her services to anyone I know that has pets.

We have two Italian Greyhounds. One has a bit more energy than the other. Laurie came in and helped us get our household back in order. We have been able to minimize the jumping and the barking at neighbors. Our dogs are getting their manners back. It's still a work in progress but she gave us the tools to make it happen! I was very lucky to have Bark Park refer me to Laurie to help me train my standard poodle puppy. Anabel had been at day care since she was 4 months old so she was pretty socialized, but she was definitely the boss of the family - consisting of me and her. I wanted desperately to walk her but she was big and pulled me around the block every time I took her outside. Within 2 sessions, Laurie had her walking on a loose leash. When I was out of the country for two weeks, I arranged to have her regularly visit Anabel at Bark Park to keep her on track and have some outside play time. I have really been blessed to know Laurie and have her train Anabel. She really cares about her clients. When I retire in a few months, I plan on signing up for some refresher training.

I often refer my Bark Park customers to Laurie and every single person / doggie is very happy with her. She does wonders for them and is someone I highly recommend.

Laurie did a great job helping us to teach our very energetic and friendly Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy, Toby, that lovable as he is he is not the Leader of the Pack. He has learned to walk on the leash like a real little gentleman and, as a result, gets many compliments from passers-by on his "good behavior".

We recently adopted a 4 month old lab pup. Being longtime animal people but unfortuneately not puppy savvy! After interviewing many trainers to work with our unsocialized pup, we were ecstatic to meet Laurie. She is professional, enthusiastic, and very personable. It has been a sheer delight for our pup Joey and the entire family to work with her. We have all learned so much along the way! I sing her praises when encountering dog talk with anyone...

Laurie is truly a miracle worker with dogs! It’s amazing to see how she can communicate and transform a dog. Laurie has proven to me that the old wise tale of, “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks” is definitely false.



I had such problems with my dog, “Annika”, who I adopted at 2 years old from a person that couldn’t handle her. It appears that the previous owner never socialized her with people or other animals and completely neglected any basic training what-so-ever. On several occasions I was afraid that I'd have to give the dog up because of her sometimes uncontrollable behaviors.



I tried all different training methods that I learned on my own in the past several years that would "semi" help the situations I was having with her but nothing would “stick”. I mastered “basic” training, but could never get her out of the aggressive frenzy when she saw another animal or person; she’d be like in a trance.



I met with Laurie last year when Annika was 4 and when I was really at wits end with her erratic behavior. After only few sessions, Annika is now so well behaved and wanting to please. It’s really a miracle. Friends of mine can not get over her transformation. I'm so happy and delighted that I'm able to enjoy spending time with her now. I know Annika is so much happier too as she gets to get out more and do more fun things now where previously it seemed impossible to do.

Laurie is an enthusiastic lover of dogs and she has been wonderful training our little Brussels Griffon puppy. Tully is 4 months and she can sit, stay and down on command, we love our training sessions. She has shown us how to crate train her and that has been very successful.We look forward to her training sessions.
