Crown Molding fit for a "King"

My husband and I were about to start the search for a contractor to install crown molding in our three year old home. It is a painstaking process trying to find a contractor who will not only do a good job, but who will actually return your calls and show up when they say they will. We had run into an issue two years ago with a contractor for our paver patio and were trying to avoid that scenierio at all costs, as it was not a pleasant one. Rick, from T&R was recommended to us and after speaking with him, he seemed to know a lot about crown moldings and decorative finishings. His price was competitive and fair and we felt comfortable enough to give him a try. We started with the living room first to give Rick the opportunity to prove himself. My husband is retired and was home at the time. I was at work and when I came home, I was pleasantly surprised at the great job he was doing! The crown molding looked awesome, just like a frame around a picture! Our living room has a lot of corners and funky angles, but every inside and outside corner were perfectly aligned! Rick worked methodically and carefully and is somewhat of a perfectionist, which is right up my alley! We were more than pleased with the completed job, his thoroughness, neatness, dedication and clean up. We called him back on two other occasions and he not only installed crown molding in our living room, but also in our master bedroom (which has a tray ceiling), the office, two more bedrooms and our loft area. Because our house is open concept, Rick even had to build somewhat of a square arch in the loft area to be able to run the crown molding around that room without going outside the loft perimeters. Conversations with Rick, while working in our home, revealed that he is seemingly well versed in other areas of home improvements and we would recommend him to anyone. He did a great job overall and we will definitely be calling him back as the need arises. I wish we had known about T&R at the time we did our patio pavers, as Tom (the other half of T&R) is an expert in this field, as well. Great job.....thanks again!

Exceptional Paint Job!

After calling several painters for an estimate to paint my large house, I decided on T & R Contractors LLC. The price was right and they were both so professional and courteous. It took approximately one week to put two coats of paint on my house (shutters too) and replace my front door. Their work is a cut above the rest!!! I would recommend these two guys to anyone for any type of work.

Tile Installation

I have had so may contractor-gone-wrong situations in the past 20 years, I have to admit I was hesitant to ever call in anyone ever again.

I had tile installation of over 1,700 sq. ft to be done. I purchased everything, had it delivered, and *thought* I would do it myself (you know, the DIY thing, and avoiding any contractor-gone-wrong scenarios). After a few miserable days, I concluded I needed a professional to do it, but my budget was tight, and I didn't want the contractor-gone-wrong scenario yet again.

I put up the project for bid online, and had many calls. One was from Rick of T&R Contracting. He spent quite a bit of time with me on the phone (I would say at least 20 minutes). We discussed everything, and he quoted me a competitive rate, but not a lowball price from a company that you just 'know' isn't going to do it right or finish. After talking with several other companies, I had a gut feeling that Rick was the one that would actually show up, and keep going until the project was complete (understand, this was a project that would take over a week).

If you are like me, you are skeptical when it comes to contractors. Are they gonna show up? Are they gonna finish the job? Are they gonna screw everything up and leave you to clean up the mess? Are they gonna cash your check and run? You are walking on egg-shells the entire time they are there, just waiting for them to either not show up, or tell you something is really wrong and it's gonna cost extra.

I am happy to report that Rick (and Tom) showed up the first day right when they said they would. They did a prelimnary walk though, didn't add any extra expense to the job, worked all day, every day, and even some really long days (I don't know where they found the energy), until the job was done.

It was obvious to my wife and I that they took pride in their work, and wanted to make sure we were satisfied. They addressed any issues we had, answered all of our annoying questions, and were pleasant and friendly all the while. Sure, we made sure there was plenty of soda for them, and tried to do what we could to make it as easy as possible for them, but these guys are hard workers, and the end result shows.

As I write this review, I have found a few minor things they will need to come back and fix (nothing major). The last day of the project, they said to mark anything that needs to be fixed with tape, and then call them back to fix. I feel confident that they will in fact take care of the issues ~ I can't tell you how much that means.

My wife and I have a loooonnnnggg list of other things we would like done, and Rick and Tom do a lot of other things besides flooring, and as long as their price is competitive, we will continue to call them back. I guess that is the ultimate -- a contractor you would actually call back again for another job!

Rick and Tom - thanks again!

outstanding job

When I wanted a built in bookshelf, I inquired with a few home improvement contractors. When I met Tom and Rick with T&R Contracting I knew they were the ones I wanted to do the work. Their pleasant demeanor and overall knowledge of the job was what sold me. They created a beautiful hand built piece set into the wall that was above and beyond my expectations. I left the decision making up to them and they chose the most beautiful molding. It really makes the whole room look new and beautiful! I am so thrilled with my new bookshelf. Thanks Tom and Rick!
