If you are looking for a high quality wild game processor look no further than Tacketts. They will only take clean meat that has been well cared for in the field. They will guarantee you get your meat back and to me as a hunter that is huge to me. I know how I care for my meat and I want only my meat back. In the 5 plus years we have be'en coming to Tackett's we have never had a problem with any of our meat. Everything is vacuumed sealed so it stores great in the freezer for well over a year. if you are thinking of getting some wild game meat processed give Tackett's a call and you won't ever have to look anywhere else for wild game processing. Rob and the Gang: Many thanks for the quality processing of my Bull Elk. We received the meat in excellent condition, within two days from Nampa, ID to Kalaheo, Kauai, Hawaii. Surprised at how well they were packed and vacuum sealed. The day the meat came we enjoyed steaks the night, absolutely delicious. For the last four years we have been using Tacketts and they by far are the best in all of idaho we would pay even more to keep them around noone even comes close to the care and effort these fine people put into our wild game. We know with them we get our own animal back in quality vacume wrap. And yes i use the word quality alot but thats what the Tackett name means to us

I have used Tackett's several times for Elk processing over the past 10 years and they do an awesome job. The shop is very clean and I know I will always get my own meat back. They also have a great selection of choices for sausages, etc. I recommend the German Sausage, Pepperoni and Cubed meat! Chicken Fried Elk, oh ya!

I took an elk in to have processed and was very impressed by the work. 2 days after I dropped the animal off I got everything back and everything was labeled and vacuum sealed. He then gave me some tips for a rafting deer hunt that was coming up. All in all I would have to say that this was the best experience with a game processor that I have ever had!

Tackett's. I think the best overall wild game meat processor in the Valley! I love the Vacuum Packed process they use. We have been using them on all of our wild game for a couple of years now and will never go any were else. They truly care about you and your meat. They will even cut steaks and process your meat for how many people you have in your family. That is about as custom as it gets right there. The Vacuum packaging they do is unbelievable, I have had other places in the past just wrap them and in one year the meat that I didn't eat has gone bad because of freezer burn. With the Vacuum pack system, it can be in the freezer for years and years and it will never get freezer burn. All I can say is, if you are looking for a place to take your wild game meat and you want a professional job for the best price around then you have to go to Tackett's.

This was my first time taking the animals I harvested to Tacketts. They did an outstanding job. Fastest turnaround time I have ever had from a wild game processor. There packaging was top notch and the meat was fantastic. I won't be going anywhere else except Tacketts from now on.

Tacketts were so nice and helpful when I brought my elk to them. I knew I would be getting alot of meat back and i wanted to make sure everything tasted great. Tacketts helped me make the best decisions one what to get back. Also they were fast and I know that I got my elk back and not somebody else's.

Look... If you've hunted, you've had "gamey" tasting meat. No one likes it, including my family. Since I switched to Tacketts in 2007, I have brought huge bull elk in the middle of the rut to them and the meat tasted BETTER than a small cow elk in December processed at a different butcher. Save yourself some time and respect the animal you have harvested by enjoying it's meat.To put it simple - Tackett's does it right.

I'm new to the Nampa/ Idaho area. I tagged out a really nice Elk. I was recommended to Tackett's from a good friend/ long time local. Now I've been hunting for a long time and have seen my share of butcher/processing places, Tackett's blows them out of the water. I was very impressed with the great service, pricing , quality of work and the real pro setup. I will never take my game anywhere else. These people KNOW WILD GAME and now, they got a new life time customer! Thank you Tackett's for a great and blazing fast job.

Where to begin ? .. I have to say I have used a few butchers in the area , and a result I had to start cutting it myself .. but on one lazy occasion .... I stopped off at Tackett's .. GLAD I stopped by!! I can see they take pride in the quality of work they do just by the clean atmosphere, and great customer service!! You know they take pride in their work by providing a window that YOU can WATCH them cut YOUR meat .. How great is that !!! I thank you for standing out above the rest !!

Like some one else stated, I was taught to take care of the game/meat from the moment it hits the ground. If I am lucky enough to get an animal down and ready for processing, the last thing I want is to have it mixed with some hunk of road kill, gut shot, been hanging in a tree(hide ,hair, guts, and all ) for 5 days piece of meat. The crew at Tackett did an outstanding job with an elk I brought in. Another customer for life

I have taken my wild game to many places over the years and Tacketts Wild Game is the best. DO NOT go anywhere else.

We always take really good care of our game and are sick of not getting our own meat back. We took an elk to Custom Butcher and the meat we got back had deer hair in it. Elk do not grow deer hair!. They say you get your own meat back but obviously that is not true. We called and questioned them about this and all we got was, "uh, it should be your meat." We tried Tackett's Wild Game Processing this year. The job they did was unlike anything we've ever had. They also said we would get our own meat back and now we believe it. They will let you watch them process your meat through their viewing window. The place was spotless and they obviously care more about quality than making a quick buck. We normally do not do reviews like this. But we feel strongly that others have a right to know. With wild game processing, you get what you pay for.

Wow. What a pleasant experience. I've been to almost all the processors in the valley and Tackett's is not like any of them. First, you notice how clean everything is when you walk in. And the job they did on my elk was awesome. Especially when you consider the nasty place I shot it. Let's just say it wasn't the cleanest elk I had ever taken in for processing. When I got the meat back it seriously looked like something I had bought at the store. Spotless and professionally vacuum packaged. At most of the other places I didn't feel I got my own meat back. Here, you can watch your animal being processed through their viewing window. They were very friendly and were happy to take my animal in at 9 pm on a Sunday (they are open 7 days a week). They have got a customer for life. Highly recommend.
