They are bad service I never saw in US

This Cottonwood riding club s Service are liars and rude to us!No1: the Manager made wrong schedule for 2 times . This is the third time the manager made a schedule mistake. No2: The Manager shouted at me and my son first in the office. I never verbally abused them. I promise, I wanted to go home ,but the club owner Tara stopped me and son. She doesnt let us go home. She talked very rudely to us. I with my son felt so sad. They are totally liars and bad service I never saw before in US. They only want to make money from you. If you want your kids to go there learn riding be careful the owner Tara and manager. They are discriminated against color people.

Not where you want to board

This is NOT where you want to board your horse unless you are willing to buy decent hay and clean water tanks and stalls. Owners are rude unless they are making money from you in the form of lessons. If you are thinking of boarding here, first look at the water. Water tanks are filthy or completely dry. Now look at the hay - it's all dry and just a bunch of stalks. Decent hay is available but owners don't want to pay for it. Horses in the pasture are so skinny they look like they are about to die. Not enough food is given to pasture horses. Lastly, look at the stalls - not just in the barns but in the Breezeway barn and the paddocks. Unless owners take care of cleaning themselves, your horse can be fetlock deep in horse manure and mud. Horses colic on a regular basis here and the owners try to pass it off as normal because there are so many horses on the property - NOT TRUE. If they took care of the horse properly, there would not be so much colic. If you complain, you are treated very rudely and told to leave if you don't like it. I'm so happy I moved my horse. She is now getting good hay and fresh water and is really cared about.

Horrible

Don't board here! The whole facility is poor and vary dirty, the stalls, runs, pastures, and paddocks are vary poorly taken care of. I boarded here for less then a month and I saw all the abuse and neglect that was being done to these horses at this facility! All the horses either have no water at all or the water is filled with bacteria and algae, the hay quality is horrible and the stalls, paddocks, etc. are filthy and rarely cleaned! During the month I was there 7 horses died because of a bacterial infection from the water and the owners didn't even care. When I moved my horse he had to stay in a equine hospital for 4 months because of the extreme bacterial infection he had. The whole facility is over priced and not taken care of, the owners are rude and only care about money NOT THE HORSES! I suggest that if you love your horse and want it to live then don't board here.

Love My Cottonwood Family

My family has been boarding at Cottonwood for six years. My three daughters and myself have all taken lessons from the wonderful trainers at Cottonwood. My girls have learned so much about riding. But more importantly, the owners at Cottonwood are like our extended family. They have so much care and compassion for everyone at Cottonwood. I truly enjoy spending as much time as I can at Cottonwood. It is the place to be!

Love this place!!!

I have a horse at this barn now and have had a few horses at their other barn 5280 in the past. I always feel welcome by everyone, both owners and fellow boarders. The location is unmatched, especially if you like to hit the trails. The people here are always friendly, willing to help if needed, welcoming to ride with, or fun to chat with while you tack up. I've always felt that my horse has been well cared for and safe, which is great peace of mind when I can't go to the barn every day or if I'm out of town. The owners have always been very helpful and truly do care about the horses. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

Cottonwood Riding Club

I have taken lessons & boarded at Cottonwood Riding Club for over 12 years. The reason I have been here so long is that my horse is happy & well cared for, both my horse & I get good instruction/training, there are lots of fun schooling shows & activities held on the property throughout the year, the trail access is great, and most of all I love the family/community environment.

For us-Truly a Home and Family

We've been here for over ten years. It is the safest, friendliest and most accommodating facility that we know in the state. The trails, facilities, family of boarders, horses, workers and owners are such an extended family. Sure, there are 28 miles of trails, lots of space and arenas, but the people and horses are what make the community. Many good facilities claim to deliver that rare combination of community, camaraderie and safety for any riding and ownership level. Cottonwood makes no grand claims, they just deliver it, year after year. This place means well for our horses and for us, and humans and horses mix wonderfully here. What more could we ask?Every horse owner experiences problems. After all, we are mixing horses, people and services here! I can certainly only speak from our perspective, but if we must face that combination of inevitable challenges and wonderful horse ownership, then I can think of no place I would rather stage that from than Cottonwood.

Cottonwood Riding Club - an excellent boarding facility!

I have been boarding my horse at Cottonwood for almost 3 years, and I wouldn't consider boarding anywhere else. The owners and staff are very friendly, engaging and helpful - when bitter cold set in in the winter months, they always email everyone to let them know that the horses are all doing OK, which puts us at ease and shows me how much they value their boarders. When my horse was injured last year and needed surgery, I was able to get him out of his paddock and into a barn for stall rest immediately. I also had the flexibility to keep him in the stall as long as needed, without feeling rushed to move back to the paddock. Great access to Chatfield State Park with miles and miles of trails - you often do not run into hikers or bikers, but you do frequently encounter the wildlife that call the park home. They offer lessons in every discipline, from beginner to advanced, and there are numerous activities from shows to special one-time clinics to the always popular Pentathlon.

My wonderful home...

After reading some of the negative posts here, I feel compelled to chime in. Not only do I keep all 4 of my horses at Cottonwood, I live there, also. Never in my life have I felt as happy, safe, secure, and cared for as I (and my horses) do at Cottonwood. I cannot say enough about how wonderfully I and my beloved horses have been treated there. It is truly my home, and the entire family who owns Cottonwood have made sure I feel that way. Most importantly, I have seen them time and again treat EVERYONE who boards there exactly the same. Yes, it is a large endeavor. Yes, sometimes people get worried or frustrated or cranky. That's normal and is to be expected. However, these people genuinely CARE. I feel that I have some credibility in reporting these observations. I've been a veterinarian for more than 23 years, so I have seen my fair share of farms. This place is my haven, and these people, my family. I can't say enough positive things about them all.

Lots of help when my horse was injured

My horse had broken a splint bone and Cottonwood was very accommodating in switching him to stall rest and then finding a place for him permanently.Chris was very helpful and there were no delays in what I needed for him. They have always been very helpful to me.

BEST PLACE

We have been part of the club since 2006. Our horse lives happily. In Cottonwood you will find friendly and knowledgeable staff. The horses are taken care of 24/7. they offer lessons for different levels and all ages. They have beautiful trails and spacious arenas. It is our second home a scape from busy and noisy days. I would highly reccommend the stables both to board and take lessons.

Great barn all around

I board 2 horses at Cottonwood in the paddocks. I'm pretty picky about my horses and was a little concerned about the number of horses boarded here but even in the summer I have never had a problem finding a place to ride (they have 5 arenas for various riding styles plus great trail access). It is a good place for beginners to competitive riders. The staff really worked with me to find my horses a place that they fit in with the other horses in their paddock. All the staff is very knowledgable and will be there in an instant if you need them for an emergency. Over all I highly recommend Cottonwood, it's the best place in the area for the facilities and the price (plus no snooty people!).

What a great place

I've taken lessons and boarded at Cottonwood for almost 10 years. It's a wonderful family-run place, and it has it all - indoor and outdoor arenas, access to trails, cross-country area. I'm happy and my horse is happy. The best!!

Cottonwood a Wonderful Place!

My family and I have had the immense pleasure of riding and boarding at Cottonwood Riding Club for many years now. I can not think of a more efficient, kind, and caring place for my horses to be able to call home. I started riding lessons at Cottonwood when I was sixteen and now I get to watch my own daughter take lessons there. Tara, Erica, John, and Chris have all become part of our family and we would not have it any other way! :-)

Great facility for lessons

Even if you don't own a horse, Cottonwood Riding Club offers English riding lessons on excellent school horses. They also have a leasing program for those interested in jumping, or just riding more frequently. A friendly, knowledgeable staff and full schedule of shows and activities keep everyone happy. Don't miss the annual pentathlon!

My Sanctuary!

Cottonwood Riding Club is my home away from home. My horse is happy and well cared for. The owners are so down to earth and helpful whenever I have a question. I have met so many nice people whether they are riders or parents of kids riding. I highly recommend this place to any horse lover!!!

Great care, excellent horse knowledge, and MORE!

I rest easy at night knowing my horses are in good hands at Cottonwood. The staff goes out of their way to help with sick or lame horses who need extra attention. They are also more than happy to provide answers to questions on care and other useful advice. Access to trails is great too. And if you stick close to home, take a lesson and you'll be amazed what you learn! Plus it's a low-drama barn, which is why I've been here for years with no plans to leave! Thanks Cottonwood!!!
