Provided by YP.comBe very careful of who cares for your children, this is a scary place for you child(ren) to be all day. My complaints are the same as everyone else and I want parents that haven't been fooled by Lana and her husband to know that they put on a good show but it's all fake. Be very very careful about who cares for you little ones and stay far away from this place.

I just did and found two validated complaints, for yelling at children and another for not keeping up with the ratio standards. They had 21 kids and two were under the age of 2 in one room. THIS IS THE TRUTH!

Provided by YP.comYou don't have 5 meals a day you have breakfast, lunch & 2 snack (which don't count as full meals). The food is processed and not restaurant rated. The food has gotten worse since they applied to be on the food program. The owners are all about making $$$ you don't care about those kids. If did you would hire better staff and you can't even keep the good teachers. I have walked in to find that the baby room was way over ratio you say you keep up with State Regulations. I know for a FACT THAT THERE IS NO TRAINING MONTHLY YOU HAVEN'T EVEN HAD A STAFF MEETING IN MONTHS....you have at least 2 to 3 teacher that don't have CPR and Food Permits you only care when State comes in.....I HIGHLY DOUBT YOU HAVE TRAINED YOUR TEACHER BEFORE THROWING THEM IN WITH CHILDREN....I saw a new teacher for the first day and she was left alone in the baby room...how messed up is that. PARENTS BEWARE!!!

Provided by YP.comI have at one time defended this Center I am a former employee. I have since deleted that one and just wanted to point out that most of these complaints are very true! The owner is very abusive to the staff and is not there when they need her. The food is less than a meal and often a sad site to look at. Breakfast three days of the week is toast and some fruit. She often makes the staff feel bad for pointing out things that are not right and then later yells at them over it not being right when she should have taken care of it when she was told about it. The center is often understaffed and the Teachers overworked no wonder they look so stressed when parents see them. The "preschool program" is a joke and there are at times well over the amount of children than the teachers should have. I also wish I had called the state while I was working there but you never know how the owner Lana will react she is less than unstable with a horrible temper! I have never worked under a boss that yells at there staff as often as she did. Please if you are taking your children here or you are looking in to it TAKE THEM SOMEWHERE ELSE! The staff try as hard as they can and are great people but with the amount of time they are understaffed along with the abuse from the owner you can see why staff come and go so often. Bottom line it may look great but all in all you would be better off taking them anywhere but Play2learn.

Provided by YP.comI am the employee who posted the
Business Response and since I can't seem to get Yellow pages to delete it I want to Retract everything I said I was to swift in defending this daycare without looking in to more of the complaints. I no longer work there due to being let go over less than honest reasons on the behalf of the owner but glad to be out from under it. I don't want to get in to the conditions of the center but I can say a lot of it is true and I wish I had been brave and the time and called State. I will say one more thing about it DON"T TAKE EMPLOYMENT at this day care.

Provided by YP.comThat is so untrue restaurant rated food, yeah if that consists of having sandwiches 2 to 3 times a week. I don't think they serve fish sticks and fries at restaurants. All your food is processed and unhealthy and who gives kids that are 1 years old sandwiches. You also served my child rolled up lunch meat and cheese. You really need to take a good look at your daycare because it's falling apart. There were only a few teachers I thought had it all together and now they are gone. It just shows how crazy the owner is, I have met her so many times and it always seems like she is unbalanced. I would tell everyone to beware of this place. I wouldn't enroll my child again if it was FREE.

Provided by YP.comThis center is just a step away from falling apart. The owner of this center is never there. There is no one there to take charge of what happens at the center. There is no management on site at any part of the day. Only underquaified teachers that do their best to survive the day. It seems that there is always too many kids for the teachers that are there. There is such a turnover of teachers that this should be a red flag to all parents. I just hope that parents will do there research on day cares and ask the right questions.

Provided by YP.comI have to agree with the original complaint! I wish I had found this complaint prior to letting my child attended this "Daycare" center. This place when you really pay attention is filthy if you walk in to the Children's bathroom the only one in the center for the kids it wreaks of Urine as if it had not been cleaned in days!
The carpets to say the least are nasty and the rooms smell awful!
My child contracted Pink eye not one time but on two occasions and that was the least of my child's medical problems due to this center,I cannot even begin to count the times my child caught something nasty while attending.
If you happened to walk in to this center in the afternoon and see the classrooms you will see it looks like a ZOO so many children as of late what did not seem like enough teachers I did not say anything but did notice that On the wall posted was the amount of children that each Teacher is allowed to have and let me tell you there were way to many kids in the room to the one Teacher that was in the classroom. On occasion I have walked in and the Teachers look wore down and less than happy to be there not to mention in the time my child attended Play 2 Learn it was very hard to keep up with What Teacher was in what room I think there is only one Teacher that is there still that was there when my child started I could not keep up with the number of Teachers that where there one day and gone the next. Not to mention I do have to agree that the owner is NEVER there and when she is and you happen to catch her she is very rude and less than helpful with a horrible temper to boot I understand why someone who complains would not want to leave there name the owner seems less than stable. Now I do understand that children that attend a day care center will get sick more than a child that does not attend one but the conditions were on a good day less than clean I pulled my child out over a list of reasons! I just hope as parents if you should see this and your children are attending this daycare or you are looking in to taking them here PLEASE pay more attention to what is going on there ask the questions and do your research and Please make sure that you don't bring your child there under the lie that they have a preschool program it is nothing less and nothing more than a less than suitable place for day care. When my child started at Play2Learn it did not seem to be so nasty and out of control but the past few months with the noticeable lack of employees and the disappearance of others with no mention as to why they are gone it really seems to have fallen apart.
A concerned parent.

Provided by YP.comI am a grandmother of 2 children who go to Play 2 Learn Academy and I have been highly impressed with their professionalism and cleanliness and caring since the first time I walked in there the summer before they opened. Since then, my 2 grandkids go there every day and they LOVE it. I have been in there several times this year and it is ALWAYS clean and the children happy. I know daycares - I took my daughter to several different ones many years ago and my grandchildren to a few also. This one is THE BEST I have EVER seen or felt would rate exceptional in my estimation. The rest of them fall wa-a-a-ay behind - and I used to think they were good!? Lana is very knowledgeable and professional and a joy to work with. Their rates are fair for the excellent service. I would highly recommend this daycare to anyone!

Provided by YP.comI just have to say that the first review is untrue, and just someone's way to let off steam over something wrong in their life.
I am a current employee of Play2Learn Academy and also have my own children attend here. If there was anything that was true from the first review, I would be the first to remove my children.
Play2Learn Academy is a clean, friendly, and educational center. The staff are experienced and trained to be wonderful educators and caregivers to each individual child at the center. We have a full enrollment and happy parents behind us to show us that we are doing a great job.
The center is fully licensed, and complies with all state regulations. The bad comments placed on this wonderful center are untrue, because they are unfounded.
I would hope that if anyone had questions about our center, that they would call or stop in to see our program for themselves.

Provided by YP.comThis is the answer for the horrible and unjust review that we received from angelmommy.
We are proud to say that our center is one of the best in the area. We have worked extremely hard to make it an exemplarily environment for your children and meet and exceed all requirements regulated by State Agencies.
We hire teachers with experience and have mandatory training every month. They know how to handle children and we havent had a complaint yet. Our kitchen is restaurant rated and we have 5 meals a day which consist of breakfast, snack, lunch, snack and dinner. We do not deep fry our food. Our food is cooked, baked or steamed. We never serve, freeze or refrigerate leftovers, we have a full time cook who makes sure that food fresh and meets federal food standards for childcare centers.
As it pertains to our daughter; we cant place her in our center or any other center due to her recently developed disability. And no, we didnt find a nanny for her. It is sad that someone is willing to exploit our sorrow, God forbid any of the children will get hurt or like our daughter develop a permanent condition. Shame on you angelmommy!!!
You are welcome to tour our center with or without an appointment.

Provided by YP.comI have had my children in a lot of daycares in the layton area and this is THE BEST one that I have ever had them in. In the state of Utah and out of state. I recomend this daycare to anyone and everyone that has children. My kids are ALWAYS WELL FED, clean, and sad to leave daycare. My kids always say how much they love the owners and the things they do at daycare. I have a 7 year old and a 4 year old. My 4 year old goes all day and my 7 year old goes half day. My 7 year old would tell me if there was something going on that wasn't right. And she loves it there. She looks forward to going back to daycare everyday. So I would truly tell anyone to take their children to Play 2 Learn Academy!!!!!!! My kids have never complained of being hungry, or eating food that wasn't good. And I have never seen the daycare with a lot of kids missing because of the "flu". In fact I have seen a lot more kids coming to the daycare and coming out of the daycare with big smiles on their faces.

Provided by YP.comI am a current customer of this business, and would recommed it to anyone. The center is new, and offers great care to childern.
I would sugggest that anyone looking for child care to go to the center for a tour, and then judge for themselves on the quality of care that they offer.

Provided by YP.comI tried to work at this center. There is NO training for workers. I thought the children where treated very poorly. The owners are only there for the money and couldn't care less about the children left in their care. I recently heard they hired a nanny for their daughter because they don't want her in such bad conditions. There was hardly any food in the kitchen and what was there wasn't something I would feed to my dogs, I was there one day when the onwer ordered another girl to feed the children soup for lunch, the same soup they had ate the day before it had been left out ALL night and not put in the fridge, a few days later we had alot of kids out sick with the "flu" I'm sure they had food poisening from the soup. I would never leave my children in the care of this place and hopefully they will be caught very soon and closed down before something awful happens to someones child. Oh and I noticed when the got their first negative review from another co worked they redid they listing so it would not show up with such a poor rating.
I wanted to respond to angelmommy's review. I am not only an Employee but my own children attend Play 2 Learn Academy as does most of our staff. I have NEVER seen anything come out of our Kitchen that is not fresh! Everything is prepared right before every meal nothing is ever reheated for another meal. Do you really think we would allow our own children to eat play and learn at this center if this was at all true? I along with the other Staff members treat each child like they are our own never anything less. I also think it was a very low blow to comment on the owners child when obviously you have no Idea what is going on. I again want to state that my own children come to this center EVERYDAY and have a wonderful quality of care all of the children are well taken care of and I am sure we have the parents appreciation to back that up. Play 2 Learn offers things that most Day Care centers do not and you will never find owners that care so much for the children that attend. I guess it is really easy to bull face lie about something when you are hiding behind a computer screen. I don't know who you are but I would like to extend a invitation to you to come to the center and tell not only myself but the rest of the Staff to our face what you have stated here, also stop by the Kitchen and tell our full time cook that you blatantly lied about what she does in the kitchen because apparently you have nothing better to do. I as a staff member would invite anyone to come tour our center at anytime you will never find any of things stated on this bull of a review happening there. I also highly doubt that fact that you are a past employee so why don't you crawl out of your hiding place and stand behind your accusations!

Provided by YP.comI wish to make a formal complaint against the following day care.
This has to be the dirtyest, nastyest daycare that I have ever been into. There is no continued training for the staff nor is there proper food handlers. The owner has refused to inform the parents when there are children sick or if there is a problem at the center. I tried to work there however when I saw the way that the center is run and the improper way that the children are handled, I chose to leave my employment. I was not going to put my license or credibility at risk. However I do feel that these things need to be brought to the attention of the state license board, I have personally seen food being given to the children that is way out of date and do not feel that this is safe. I know that i wouldn't give it to my children at home nor would i want it given to them there or anywhere else. Please see that this daycare is checked out for the well being of both children as well as the staff
