I had a porcelain crown put in today and on my way out the receptionist asked me if I would be kind enough to compose a review for the office and I said no problem and welcomed the opportunity to thank them for doing such beautiful work. Before I had a large white plastic filling put in by a previous dentist in Milwaukee, but it broke and the tooth broke, after it was in for only two years. Dr. James recommended a complete porcelain crown, and he gave me a 10 years written replacement guarantee on it. This sold me on his work. So I have no problem saying good things about the office. There is some fine print on the guarantee like, no ice chewing, doesn't cover accidents like a fall or car accident, things like common sense things you shouldn't do. My HMO insurance didn't cover the crown because it has fine print that is not in my best interest, like: " if a tooth can be fixed with a filling, a crown is not covered". Thanks alot HMO, no more patching for me. No more HMO. (Hide)

Michigan Avenue Dental is an ideal place to go for any dental needs you may have. The have all the dental specialists in house . My wife goes to a female dentist there and I go see Dr. James. Dr. James is a very skilled general dentist. One with many years of experience. Unfortunately, I know the difference, by trial and error, between an experienced doctor or dentist and one without years of experience. I now only go to a doctor who has been out of school for at least ten years. Dr. James is conservative and doesn't go looking in your mouth just to find some work to keep him busy. That is being ethical. Unfortunately some dentists are not. I learned this from experience. I recommend the whole office. They have specialists in the office so you don't have to go far and you can get a specialist’s second opinion. A dentist working just by him/herself doesn't have the advantage of having specialists in house and the patient doesn't have the advantage of other dentists looking over their shoulder making sure ever patient is treated properly and get the best care. I recommend them highly.

Was a patient for over 20 years until I move to the Seattle Area a little while ago. He and his office were always friendly and professional. I've never had to deal with repairing any bad dental work or the pain my friends have related to me abound their dental experiences. . In all that time there has only been once when one of the staff was out of sorts. Not bad. One thing I did not like was waiting beyond my appointment time, but I experienced ( and continue to experience) that with my medical people too. But, still, I do not like it . A pet peeve of mine.XXXXXX Dr. James was always willing to take the time to explain and demonstrate things. I link my good dental health these last few years to Dr. James' emphasis on prevention.XXXXX The kicker for this review was when my dentist here complimented me on my previous dental work. So I thought Dr. James and his office deserved some well-earned reviews. Hope this helps.

Wow! I was impressed from start to finish. Making an appointment was easy and the staff at the front desk was super friendly. When I got to the office, the receptionists were friendly and efficient. I didn't wait long and the dentist was friendly, professional and most importantly seemed very trustworthy. The dentist performed excellent dental work on me. I needed crowns on some of my front teeth and no one can believe when I tell them they are not my natural teeth. On top of the superior service, the office is gorgeous I've never had a dental experience like this before. I would recommend this office to my friends and family.

Dr James is a Fantastic Dentist. I have been to few dentists before I found Dr James. He explains your options to you rather than rushing you and making you confused with big talk. Since I am lazy when it comes to taking care of my teeth. So I went to see him to have few cavities checked, a cleaning and just a general check up. Dr James was honest with my condition and gave me my options with cavities. I had two fillings done by Dr. James and it was painless experience. I am terrified from dentists but Dr James and everybody in his staff made me comfortable. Everyone in the office was very knowledgeable. I'm a new patient, but my experience has been GREAT so far. I have found my dentist for life. HIGHLY recommended.
