I have to say that after ten years of renting this company is the absolute worst I have ever dealt with. My husband and I were denied due to our references. However, the company only called one of our references, a previous apartment we rented which had no record of our time there. We did not learn of this from Deschutes, but from the next company we are renting from. Our previous apartment is currently on the third owners and misplaced our rental agreement. Had Deschutes notified us of the situation we could have resolved the issue with a single phone call. It is apparent to me that the $80 dollars it costs you to apply is simply pocketed with no actual effort on their part. Possibly they had a friend in mind to rent this property to who were behind us in line? I did call to discuss the issue with Deschutes and was simply asked to complain online. So I guess that is what I am doing.

First let me say, I have rented 8 apartments over the last 10 years and Deschutes Property Management was by far the worst company I have ever rented from. When my wife and I moved into the place, it was a mess and nothing was cleaned. Plus all the carpet smelled like cat pee which was disgusting. They said it was professionally cleaned but I think they just say that or use some crappy cleaning company. Anyways we signed a year lease and when our lease was up we wanted to sign a 6 month lease because we were in the market to buy a house. They wouldn't even consider it so they made us sign a 9 month lease. So with that said....we found a house to buy and needed to break out of our lease at 6 months. They said we were going to have pay a buyout fee of $1200 so we wrote a letter to try to have that waived based on our situation. They ended up not waiving it even though they had the place rented within 3 days after we put in our 30 day notice. After we moved out we spent a total of 8 hours deep cleaning everything and made the place by far cleaner then when we moved in. When we got our final statement they took our whole security deposit plus made us pay the buyout fee. They charged for things that are normal wear and tare such as minor scratches on the walls and replacement of toilet seats (which were perfectly clean and fine). They also charged us $500 for a small dent in the garage door, which was our fault but the problem was they didn't even fix the garage door they just took our money for the sake of it. In the past I have left places much worse then this place and have always got at least half of my deposit back. This company is greedy and crooked and I want everyone to be aware before renting from them. Make sure you take your own pictures before and after move out so you have something to show them because if not I can guarantee you they will take your money! As long as I live in the area, I will never recommend this rental company to anyone!

Responsive and professional, they always get back to me promptly regarding any maintenance issues. I've been renting from Deschutes Property Management for 6 months now without any major issues or hassles.

This has been our first experience with a property management company as the renters rather than the property owners. We own a rental in Illinois, and the difference in service and professionalism is like day and night. DPM is quick, courteous, they greet us by name, and are just great to work with-DPM has made our move to OR much easier, and we give them the highest rating possible. Thanks DPM!!!

We have rented with DPM coming on two years this June. When I have a maintenance issue it gets fixed promptly and the maintenance guy is friendly and efficient. When I go in to pay rent monthly they address me by name and know what property I live at. Today, I went to resolve an issue and instead of them hiding behind policy/contracts they decided doing the right thing was more important. That is how I like to treat people and appreciate being treated that way as well.

I have been renting from DPM for 5 years now and have been quite pleased with them.Staff has always been accommodating and courteous whenever we meet.The rental was clean and up to date when I arrived and I have so far had no major issues at all. Small things (i.e. dryer vent) were attended to within 48 hrs. Otherwise, a trouble-free dwelling that suits my needs well.

I am once again am Renting a property through Deschutes Property Management and couldn't be happier with the way they make the process seem so seamless. Compared to the many other property management companies out there, they are so far the only one that seems hold themselves to a higher standard when it comes to providing customer service. I highly recommend renting through Deschutes Property Management.

I have been on both sides of the coin with Deschutes Property Management over the years both renting from them and using them as my property management provider. They are professional, courteous, and always seem to make my experience a good one. They also list more rentals on the market then the "other guys".

I have been renting from DPM for 2 years now. I have found the staff pleasant to work with, and any time I have needed maintenance, it has been completed promptly and done well. I have always been treated kindly and the staff has done a great job.

Our experience with these guys has been on the positive side. They have always been on the ball when it comes to maintenance requests and I rarely (if ever) have to wait in the lobby to speak with somebody. To top it off, I told them I was going to be late with the following month's rent and they were cool enough to waive the fee for us so... yeah, I can't say I have any complaints about them.

I am an existing customer of DPM and I have always gotten prompt responses for maintenance needs and when annual inspections are performed they are very accommodating to our family's schedule. I recommend them as a provider and the staff is always very helpful and friendly and I am greeted by multiple staffers each time I stop in to pay rent or request misc. things.

I have been renting from DPM for almost 4 years now and i seriously have zero complaints. we have had our problems with kids paint striping my garage, non working heaters, and internal household problems and they worked with me on everything and happily resolved my problems. Any maintenance issue I've had was fixed surprisingly fast and the maintenance guy is awesome. i would recommend to anyone looking for a nice rental to check out Deschutes Property Management

The staff at Deschutes Property Management did a great job of identifying areas of improvement where I am renting and scheduling the work without me even having to ask for it!

The office staff have been friendly and helpful at Deschutes Property Management. I had to find a house for our family while living 5 hours away. The staff was very helpful in coordinating paperwork and viewings so I could take care of everything with one trip. Our house is beautiful, in a nice neighborhood and reasonably priced. We are happy with the service.
