We arrived a few hours earlier than the check in time. The front desk guy let us store our luggage in the storage room, while me and my girlfriend explored the city! The room was bigger and better than we expected. The subway is walking distance from this hotel. I really enjoyed my stay here, this will be my go to spot whenever im in New York.

The room was basic but comfortable. The bed was also very comfortable and the bed linen clean and fresh. The showering facilities were excellent with plenty of towels, soap etc. The small fridge was extremely useful and much appreciated. Members of staff were courteous and helpful at all times. A wardrobe for hanging shirts, coats etc would have been useful. If I visit New York again in the future I will certainly stay there.

Good location near public transport, only 15 mins into times square on the train. Lots of cool affordable restaurants around morningside and amazing begel shop on the corner prefect for breakfast quick stop!!

The room was clean. The hotel is very close to subway access to get to the city. It was small, but enough for when you come tired from th city. Staff is very very friendly. Quiet to sleep at night. I would recommend it for a night or two.

Budget for sure but was worried after i booked and read horrid reviews. But on my 5 night stay, room was spotless fresh towels and bed clothes daily and felt safe in an exerlant location near cent park

With this hotel I was extremely satisfied, was clean, every day our dear cleaners swept the room, put clean towels. Also the staff at the reception was nice. Certainly when I go back to New York, I go to the same sticks. Excellent location.

The hotel is very nice staff is welcoming location can not be beaten stayed here visiting new york from texas and am very impressed with how easy it it to get to the subway and and get around Manhattan also the things around the hotel are great good food good restaurants 5 mins from the Seinfeld diner its the best location around for what you pay had a great time beds are comfy shower nice and hot nice ild style pre war feeling

we stayed on the rooms with private bathroom. its was clean and comfy. but in the morning....we can hear the people coming talking by the elevator/lobby. maybe next stay we will request a room far away from lobby.

Great place to stay a excellent value for your money. Close to manhattan and there were a lot of places in the immediate area to eat and party. The public transportation is very close also I will recommend this place all my friends!!!

It's located in a very good area, close to the subway, central park, st. john's cathedral. Lot's of pretty cheap restaurants around there too. A night at the hotel is pretty cheap, better than anything you'll find in manhattan. The hotel's inside looks a bit old, the common area was pretty dirty, the bathrooms are shared but the beds are comfy. The people who work there are very nice, friendly and helpful. Overall it's a great and affordable place to crash for a few nights.

Myself and 2 other friends stayed here after finishing our work as camp counsellors over the summer in the states. Being students we weren't wanting to spend most of our wages on a hotel so for the price that we paid, we didn't expect much. However, the staff were friendly and the room was exactly what we expected. Cleaned everyday with fresh towels and bed sheets. Room was small but had a fridge and the TV had plenty of channels including British sport to watch.The area was fine with no bother at all. It is quite northern compared to Times Square but it is only a 5-10 minute walk to the nearest subway station in either direction and plenty of food such as McDonalds and Dominos to eat. All in all we were very pleased with the hotel and would recommend it to anyone with the same expectations.

I was referred to this hotel by a friend who stayed for 3 months while getting integrated to NYC, so I stayed for one month while I searched for an apartment in the City. It's located in a GREAT location on the UWS of NYC, close to shops, restaurants and just a short walk to either Riverside Park or Central Park! I felt completely safe during my stay - had enough baggage to fill the room since I was moving back to the City, and I was never worried about any of it being in the room whenever I was out of the room. The room was always kept clean by the hotel staff as well, so overall, it was a great experience!



I've recommended the hotel to a friend who is staying there now with a couple of other friends and I have full confidence that they'll have such an enjoyable and wonderful time visiting the City knowing that they're in a safe, clean and hospitable hotel! I can only highly recommend it - it's a great value for the price!!

I recently stayed at the Morningside Inn in New York City and was absolutely impressed with the staff and the accommodations for such a facility that was not known to me. I was especially impressed with the Managers ability to get me a room on such short notice and have his staff get it ready. I believe his name is Patrick.

I went to NY with my boyfriend and this was the best option to stay one night. It was really close to Central Park and it's really easy to get there by train... The service was really nice to us, the room is clean, and the [private] bathroom was good.

Hotel was very basic, but clean and tidy. And rooms we're good size. We we're located on ground floor so was quite noisy so i would suggest to request an upstairs room. Location was good about a $10 cab far into times square.

My decision to stay here was based on the location near the subway line a ride away from midtown. I enjoyed walking Broadway and Riverside park . Last time I stayed in Queens and it was long ride in the subway. You are paying to stay in a safe neighborhood blocks away from Columbia University, I really can't say much for the amenities of the room when you have the city so close. It was a convenient and cheap place to crash, that's it. Patrick, the manager was helpful and friendly finding a car service to the airport. I be coming back.

My friend and I were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. This is a very quaint place. We paid for the budget double and Patrick upgraded to a room w/a view and a private bathroom. The room was very clean and I will def recommend MI to friends/family.

I didnt have any problems here. Yes, it's New York were you should NEVER expect anything to go as planned, however, the manager was very accomodating and so was the girl at the front desk. I guess it's your attitude that counts most. I think that there are people who come to NY carrying their "priviledge" with them wherever they go. Sorry you dont understand that the price for the room does NOT mean that you will be treated special as you are used to. Take that crap downtown where the snobbish linger in droves. Had a great stay at morning-side inn. Front desk staff very was helpful. Specially patrick. He would do anything to help you in any way! I would definitely stay again. And recommend this place!

I stayed at the morningside Inn for 3 nights with my husband and son. We had such a good time. When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by patrick (the manager)and the two hispanic ladies that work there. They were so friendly and hospitable. My son took such a liking to patrick . he made us feel like we 've known each other for years, and the 2 young ladies that were there were so polite and friendly. they helped us find our way around the city, and even went as far as watching my son for me while i ran out to the store. The atmosphere at morningside inn was great . I recommend this hotel to everyone that is traveling alone or with children. It's like home away from home.
