I had a check-up, cleaning, and a few cavities filled and liked the place. At that point I would have said they were good as far as dentists go. The trouble began when I needed a root canal. First he referred me to a great root canal specialist, which was fine. However, before that I was dropped from my parent's insurance so I'd be paying out of pocket for my procedure. (I'm a college student) I charged $1000 dollars on my credit card for the root canal, which I was expecting, again no big deal. But, then come to find out Dr. Mubarak (the dentist at Healthy Smiles) neglected to tell me in addition to the root canal I would need a filling and crown, which was an additional $800. I didn't find this out until Dr. Wells (the root canal specialist) told me I needed to go back to Healthy Smiles for the crown. You would think Dr. Mubarak would tell me if an additional $800 was needed, because now I'm stuck with a partially-fixed tooth and can't afford to finish it. Had I been informed properly I may have chose another course of treatment. On top of that, while I was finding the money for the root canal, they treated me as a drug addict when I asked for pain-killers for the infected tooth. I had to practically beg (which made me feel even more degraded) to get a second course of pain-killers. They acted as though I, a college student, could just pull a thousand bucks from thin-air, and then a surprise eight-hundred bucks on top of that.
