Therefore, you do not have to switch pharmacy benefit administrators when you want to replace a single service component to improve plan performance. Ownership: Douglas Wittenauer, R.Ph., is the president and chief executive officer of Pharmacy Data Management, Inc ( PDMI ), a privately held, independent Ohio corporation. A licensed pharmacist who graduated from The Ohio State University in 1981, Doug has over 27 years experience in the pharmacy industry. He got his start working in his family's retail pharmacy when he was 13 years old. Doug founded PDMI in 1983 as an administrative platform for health plans. He developed the foundation on which our proprietary software is based, which allows complete customization and flexibility for existing and prospective clients. PDMI was created to offer clients the freedom and flexibility to provide a customized/full-pass through pharmacy claims processing solution not available in the traditional PBM model. PDMI's first client, a TPA that wanted to compete with a national PBM and offer its groups a regionally based, private-label Rx program, remains with us today. Acting as a consultant, Doug created PDMI, which functions as a back-shop processing center, providing clients with full authority over their respective prescription programs. PDMI has not changed this business model since the inception of the company. Mission: PDMI strives to achieve excellence in pharmacy benefit administration. Our staff is cross-trained in all facets of pharmacy administration. PDMI requires that our call center agents have retail pharmacy backgrounds. Currently, all of our agents are, at a minimum, pharmacy technicians. We have a licensed pharmacist on staff to act as an advisor for prior authorizations and clinical consultation with pharmacists in the field.
