SIMS Manufacturing Company makes packaging equipment. The company was founded in 1969 when it developed a fully automatic impact case printing machine. The case printer helped packers and shippers increase productivity by simplifying repeatable tasks. The company expanded its product line to include case sealers, case erectors, tape heads, strapping machines, tray denesters, pad inserts and case closers, as well as conveying machines to link these machines together. SIMS Manufacturing is a member of the Michelsen Packaging family of companies. The company s headquarters is in Yakima, Wash. Michelsen Packaging Company operates manufacturing and warehousing facilities in Wenatchee, Auburn and Yakima, Wash., and Fresno, Calif.
