“As a child watching my father study and train to become a doctor, I was strongly influenced toward a career in medicine. That interest, combined with my enjoyment of working with my hands, make the specialty of orthopaedic surgery a natural fit for me. Born and raised in Wayne County, it is special for me to be able to return home, and like my father, to help serve my neighbors and patients from Wayne and Holmes Counties. For many patients, arthritis can be an extremely debilitating disease. I find restoring function and comfort to be among the most rewarding accomplishments in medicine today. I elected to complete a fellowship with specialty training in joint replacement so that I can best restore the quality of life for patients with disabling joint arthritis. Additionally, with this advanced training I feel that I am better able to evaluate and care for more complex patient who may still be dissatisfied following their initial joint replacement surgery. I am excited to have the opportunity to return home, become reacquainted with old friends, and, to welcome new patients and help them with their orthopaedic needs.”
