Trust and reliability are important to me when I need service or maintenance for my automobile. You hear many stories where honesty is not the best policy especially with women senior citizens. I have been servicing my automobile with Merchants on Dale Blvd. for over 5 years. I am treated honestly, fairly, and efficiently. I recommend them to all my coworkers, family and friends.

Never going to any Merchant's again, they have left a bad taste in my mouth from this particular location. I went in for an oil change and something told me that day to go back but I had other places to be. My car had a flat tire yesterday and it had to be towed to my dealer, they fixed the issue but being good mechanics they found that my oil was leaking. Now this is a BRAND NEW CAR, purchased in June 2014, that was my first oil change because I was not able to get to my dealer. I learned my lesson. So I go back to Merchant's TODAY to explain to them and they were nice at first but when I asked them to update my notes because it was their fault I was met with smart comments and "you can deal with Mike tomorrow". Alex was the person I dealt with and towards the end he became very nasty trying to downplay the situation when in fact if the mechanic wouldn't have been negligent and knowledgeable he would've known to put everything back in its place and made sure it was secure. Merchant's just have people that are on the clock and do sub par work, please if you value your car and hard earned money steer clear of this location and Merchant's in general. I wouldn't even give them 1 star if I didn't have to.

Do not go to Merchant's! I took the vehicle in for some maintenance and left with the power steering fluid cap missing and a clunking noise in the front right of the vehicle. I took it back a few days later and they apologized for the missing cap ( and reimbursed me since I had bought a new one) and then went on to tell me the clunking noise was because I needed all new shocks and struts-I had "all the original shocks and struts." It was going to be over a thousand dollars to get me back on the road "safely." I looked through all of my vehicle maintenance work and found an invoice for new shocks and struts replaced just 2 years earlier at the SAME Merchant's by the SAME mechanic!!!!!! I called a different mechanic to come to my home to take a look and guess what--my shocks and struts were fine (and NOT the original), but a bolt was loosened in the front right of the vehicle causing the clunking noise. He tightened it, and all was well!!!! I was so upset that they had tried to rip me off. I had been an ignorant loyal customer for years!!!!

Worst Customer Service! I went this past weekend to drop of my car to do a simple oil change the girl in the front desk said it was a 5HOUR WAIT. So I decided to make an appointment on Monday. I went in and they could not find my appointment and told me it would be a 2hr wait. They when they went to check my car before taking it in noticed my check engine light was on and said they can't touch my car, thats it's there policy to not accept cars with check engine light, even though I already got the code and was going to fix it. So I fixed it the next day and called to make an appointment same day service. I called and spoke to a guy name Shawn and he said 6pm was booked, but he can still take my car in because they close at 9pm. I asked, Are you sure, he said yes no problem. I got there and another guy (didn't have a name tag) told me there we no longer accepting cars today. And I explained Shawn told me I could bring it in, he said--Shawn already left. This guy wasn't even considerate. He was very cold and didn't even apologize for it. I am so shocked of the customer service here I am so glad they didn't touch my car--- I wasn't even there customer yet and alread have been rejected 3 times-- I will NEVER bring my car here!

Had a great experience!

I don't know why there are so many bad reviews! I went on a Tuesday afternoon for a oil change & to have them check my tires.

The place was really busy but a gentleman at the front greeted me & said he will help me in a minute. Within 20 min, they had all my info and concerns with my car and said it would be 1-1/2 hr wait. They finished in about 40 min, which was great & said I needed a new front tire. I knew how much the tires ran on my car & they gave me a good price. I got in and out fast & felt good about my experience!

lack of custom service skills

Waited for 2 hours to get an alignment. When i went to check how much longer, the service desk guy told me "oh it hasnt been taken in yet another car took too long" Seriously...how long were u going to let me wait before u told me that. Why couldnt he have just told me that from jump? So rude. Inconsiderate. And lack of concern.

THEY ARE SOME MONEY HUNGRY SAVAGES!!! Over the weekend I dropped my car off for an oil change and was told someone would call me when its done! 5 HOURS later I FINALLY got a phone call from a representative updating me about my tires and that I would need an alignment!? Fustrated because my car just had an alignment done, I told them "forget it, i'll just pick up my car" apparently 5 HOURS wasnt enough time to get an oil change either!!! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME or YOUR MONEY...after I picked up my car the next day my check engine light came on!!!

This business if you can call it that, does not deserve a star. I have never written a review about a company of this type until this evening. I spent 1300.00 approximately on Michalin tires in Feburary of 2012. To this date, I can not get rid of a vibration on my steering wheel. I am on my third ballance and still no luck. I did not have this problem until my old tires were removed and new ones put on. On June 1st, I walk into store after test driving again to have one of the very unprofessional employees laugh in my face at my comments. I talked to my neighbors this evening and they all had the same rebuttle, they would never set foot in this store because of simliar issues and very unprofessional service. Extremely unprofessional staff and would not recommend this store to anyone. Both thumbs down and contacting next level of management in the morning.

Bait a switch, watch yourself. Talked to Mike the manager over the phone on set of tires on sale. Said in stock and even asked me if I wanted to put them on reserve. When we got there another guy told me he could not offer the promotional deal on those tires and that Mike was not in. Find a more ethical place to spend your money rather than wasting your time.

god awful. horrible service and customer service. they are so slow and the do not care about your car or you as a customer. it took the mechanics 3 and a half hours to do a normal alignment and didn't even do it correctly. NEVER GO HERE THEY SUCK!!

DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO THE MERCHANT'S TIRE ON DALE BLVD IN DALE CITY, VA!!!

I took my car to the Merchant's on Dale Blvd in Dale City, VA for an oil change because I had a coupon. The day of the oil change they were very busy and the manager kept trying to get me to bring the car back another day. I explained that I was not on any kind of time restraint and that I could not bring it back another day since I was actually getting ready to go on vacation. I had to tell him this several times before he was satisfied that I wasn't going to come back another day. About 6 weeks later my car started making a very loud knocking noise. When my fiance' tried to figure out what the problem was he discovered that there was no oil at all in the car! I called Merchant's the next day and was told I could bring it back in and they would look at it. The same manager I had dealt with the day I went in for the oil change called me back less than an hour later. He proceeded to tell me that he knew what the problem was even though I hadn't even brought my car back in yet. He told me that they had put regular oil in when it should have been synthetic oil because my car has a turbo engine in it. He also told me to bring it back in and they would change the oil and flush the motor. When we took it back in the manager tired to tell us we would have to pay $80 for them to fix it. He finally agreed after a short debate to do it free of charge. We had to leave the car over night. The next morning he called back again and said that the computer actually said that either, regular or synthetic oil, could be used and that he would have to charge me at least $50. I had to tell him that the owner's manual and the dealership indicated that synthetic oil was the only one that could be used. He got very short and indicated that this was all partially my fault because I came in with a coupon!!!! I did end up getting the work they did to correct the issue for free finally but it was no easy task. If I hadn't resisted they would have definitely charged me to correct THEIR mistake. Their computer obviously has the incorrect information along with the fact that they don't know what they're doing and they have a REALLY bad attitude. If you can't afford to pay for their mistakes and/or for your car to possibly be permanently damaged-DO NOT GIVE MERCHANT'S TIRE, DALE CITY, VA YOUR BUSINESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
