No tow dolly at pickup, had to wait until 6pm to get car trailer (which was defective). Charged $150.00 deposit at pickup even though paying with credit card. Charged more for tow dolly even though we were inconvenienced. Guy who works at Wilmington budget may be mentally retarded and I suggest immediate termination of him and their right to rent budget trucks. He didn’t know procedure, didn’t explain new documents, was rude, unhelpful, stupid, and disrespectful. Tire on car trailer disintegrates an hour outside of town. Stopped for gas in florence and gas station mechanic noticed trailer was being held to truck by a flimsy piece of metal. Budget sent out own mechanic and the trailer was deemed broken/unfit for travel by budget mechanic at Florence, sc. Called at 4:30 to report, roadside assistance was unhelpful and rude and didn’t believe problem even though we had the gas station mechanic saying there was. Called local budget rental in Florence at 5:15 to ask about trailer, no one answered, supposed to be open until 6pm. Called Thoroughbred Motors (TM) (the business its located in and he said they had left for the day. So the employee left at least 45 minutes early. TM guy said they had a tow dolly there. So problem could have been resolved by roadside assistance at 4:30 but they chose to ignore good customer service. They are too busy running three businesses out of this place to care very much about any of them.

I received less than 24 hours notice that instead of driving a few blocks to pick up the Budget truck I'd reserved, I would have to travel all the way to Shallotte, 40 minutes from my house. When I stopped by the office to find out why, the woman behind the desk was rude and dismissive. She hadn't had functioning trucks in three days, but hadn't bothered to send out the notice till last minute.



Long story short: TERRIBLE service. Avoid this location. I wish I could give it zero stars.

Definitely the best taxi service in Wilmington. They are dependable and fast. I would give them 4 stars.
