Byram in New York obtained an order of medical supplies from a home health nursing service in the Houston, Tx suburbs. Using my medical insurance information Bryam then delivered 30 days of medical supplies which they valued at over $600. At no time did Byram or its agents ever notify me of this action or ask for my permission to use my medical insurance.
Two weeks into my care, my doctor changed the home nursing care protocol leaving me eventually with a half used box of medical supplies. During my home care the nursing service failed to notify both their managers as well as Byram of the surplus.
After a month I personally contacted Byram's Billing Dept about the unused surplus. I was put on hold nearly 15 min, then told Byram had a 15 day return policy and said nothing could be done about either a return or account credit. The Billing Dept associate said I could try to appeal this situation with their Customer Service Dept. I was transferred and after another 15+ min on hold, the Customer Service rep said this wasn't their problem, then transferred me back to Billing. Guess what? More time on hold.
My home nursing service, Denson, has said they're sorry but refuses to get involved with Byram. I have since notified Byram I have over $160 in medical supplies, including 29 rolls of gauze. I have refused to pay co-payment beyond what my Medicare PPO has already paid. Should Byram decide to collect on my $50 co-payment, I have given them written notice I shall file complaints with local BBB and both Texas and NY states Attorneys General.
Avoid Byram like the plague!
