Initially Modern Log Homes, SonPointe Log Homes and Tim Stensvad served us well. Tim Stensvad's wife Becky Stensvad was absolutely wonderful to work with; she was responsive, knowledgeable, and very helpful. However, after we took possession of our new home, the contractor who did a good job and who we trusted, abruptly left Modern Log Homes. Then Tim Stensvad, the owner of Modern Log Homes and SonPointe Log Homes was unwilling to abide by his/their written warranty. Mr. Stensvad refused to completely fix items on our punch list, several of which were/are major. He told us to be patient, and that he would contact subs to fix our items, but many months went by without any response from him. When we finally re-contacted him he gave one excuse after another as to why he would do nothing more on our punch list. We tried, unsuccessfully, to resolve these issues through two Better Business Bureaus. We have almost a year's worth of e mail exchanges documenting Tim Stensvad's lack of standing by his written warranty, lack of follow through, and general discourteous and dismissive attitude. Unfortunately two other separate people we spoke with reported even worse experiences with Tim Stensvad and these two companies, but they apparently did not contact either of the Better Business Bureaus. We would never do business with Modern Log Homes, SonPointe Log Homes or Tim Stensvad again, and based on our experience, would caution anybody else about trusting Mr. Stensvad.
