The Emess Design Group, a company whose brands include Alsy Lighting, is co-author in several product copyrights, while creating and patenting new technology and design. Emess Design Group manufactures and markets portable and fixed-wire lighting and decorative accessories. Primarily found at big box specialty stores, home centers and mail-order and mass merchandisers, Alsy Lighting offers fashion right lighting and accessories from funky and juvenile to functional and eclectic. Additional brands within the Emess Design Group include Stein World home accent and occasional furniture, J. Alexander mix and match shades and lamps, Baldwin forged and cast brass lamps and chandeliers, Norman Perry premium collection primarily found at high-end furniture dealers and antique stores and Creswell Lighting. The company began in 1971 as Alsy Manufacturing. After several acquisitions, in 2002 Emess Design Group was formed.
