Jerry is an EXCELLENT realtor. He is very knowledgeable about the housing market including new builds and existing homes. My husband and I never had a problem contacting Jerry and if we had to leave a message he called back within hours, often apologizing that it took him so long! :)

Jerry took the time to answer all of our questions and explained the buying process in detail. When he would show us homes, he was able to point out structural and cosmetic issues to think about. Jerry is well educated with structural aspects of a home. During our appointments, he took his time and we didn’t feel rushed at all during our visits to see homes. He was even there to help us through the tough lending process, checking and double checking to make sure things were being completed in a timely manner by the lender. We felt Jerry was very personable, yet professional and we would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking to buy a home.

When we decided to sell our home, we contacted Jerry Melvin, who we had worked with before. With his experience and knowledge of the housing market, we were able to price our home right and sold it within 2 days. Jerry was also dedicated to finding us the right house. He took the time to listen to what we wanted in our new home. The first day we went out looking, he had found us the "perfect house" . It was exactly what we wanted. Jerry is a caring and committed realtor who we highly recommend to anyone wanting to sell or buy a home.

Prudential Platinum Westerville OH helped us purchase a home recently. Jerry Melvin said we were a rare case since we literally walked in off the street, i.e., showed up at the Prudential office unannounced. I told him this in fact done on a whim passing buy, was based on my having a solid experience using Prudential for several homes purchased and sold and rented in the Chicago metro area when I worked major Fortune 20 corporation and moving around a lot - I had great experiences with Prudential in the past. There are realtors and there are super realtors and I would put Jerry Melvin and PruPlat Westerville definitely in that latter category. Jerry knows the markets and properties but also knows just about everything about - buy and selling homes, rentals, construction / inspection issues etc.

We moved to Columbus about 18 months ago. Not knowing a lot about the Columbus area, we were unsure of where exactly we wanted to live. Jerry drove us around three different locations. He had a lot of patience and shared a lot of information about positives and negatives of each area without influencing us with his personal opinions. He also pointed out positives and negatives of each house we looked at. This was helpful because he pointed out things I hadn't noticed, or wouldn't have thought to look at.

Jerry is a relocation specialist and has kids of his own, so the fact that I looked at houses for three straight days with three kids in tow didn't bother him a bit.

Ultimately, we decided to build. Jerry used to be in the construction business and knows a lot about the structure of houses. He routinely visited the construction site. This was invaluable to us because we were living out of town while our house was being built.

While negotiating with our builder, it was great to have Jerry on our side. He not only helped us during the initial negotiations, but also while putting upgrades in our home. He was there during walk throughs with the builder, and was there while choosing where to put electrical outlets and lighting fixtures. Since he has a construction background, he had great ideas to help ensure we were making good decisions.

When I hear of someone looking for a realtor, I always tell them how great Jerry was and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone. My husband and I have used several different realtors over the years and Jerry was, by far, the best!

Prudential Platinum Realty and the Melvin family are the best in the business! We were referred to them in 1996 by a friend and haven't used another realtor since (we've bought/sold a total of 4 homes). They will list your home at a price to sell quickly in any market without reducing the price. Their knowledge of the industry is impeccable but what we liked most about the Melvins was their genuine sincerity and honesty. They always have your best interest at heart and willing to share their professional and personal opinion. We have referred Prudential Platinum Realty to many friends and they have all been extremely satisfied.
