These people were hired by the City of Lake Worth to do major sidewalk and possibly related road work all over the city. I have a single-family rental house on South D St. They did their work all down D St, including in front of my house. They broke a big concrete chunk out of my walkway to the front door and left it in my front yard. They removed all the soil on the street side of the hedges along the front yard leaving the roots exposed. Once that was done, it left a big ditch all along the front of the yard, between the yard and the curb. Also, the walkway to the house no longer went all the way to the sidewalk. When I asked that it be fixed (among other things) they poured cement in a steep ramp, an accident waiting to happen. When I asked that they replace the soil they dug out of the hedges at the roots, they came and poured sand all along the hedgerow. Guess where all that sand is now after the rain we've had every day for the last few weeks.


Lake Worth has a Project Manager in charge of this work with whom I have been able to talk once and who assured me that everything would be made as it was. I am sure Cheatham made the cheapest bid and therefore got the job. Without any real oversight or accountability in this project it is yet another nail in the coffin of what has become Lake Worth.
