The Gulf Stream Council, a part of Boy Scouts of America, was established in 1914. It offers a range of educational and extracurricular programs and options to children and teenagers. The council serves more than 30,000 scouts and over 3,000 volunteers in various counties in Florida, including Palm Beach, Martin, St Lucie, Indian River, Okeechobee and Hendry. It also conducts programs in personal fitness, adventure, service, achievement, citizenship and leadership training, and youth and character development areas. The council organizes a variety of activities, such as camping, canoeing, hiking, sailing and community service projects. Located in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., The Gulf Stream Council additionally operates a services center.
