Half hour who can do better

I was getting new tires on Saturday July 16, 2011. In the mean time I had a tire with a slow leak. On July 11th Big O had claimed they couldn't fix the flat that I just needed to replace my tires. I was going crazy with my leak so I asked Discount Tire if they would throw my spare on for me until I could get my tires on Saturday, the said "sure". The did this on Wednesday. On Saturday when I took my car in to get my tires Adam gave me a great deal. I am on a fixed income and so I was thrilled when he gave me a deal that I could get all 4 tires at once. I had made an appointment and I was in and out in 40 minutes. I will never go anywhere else to get tires. These guys really rock. Thanks Adam and crew!!

First off Discount doesn't do any mechanical work, so latest comment isn't valid here he must have got his locations confused. Second, Discount is the only place still around legitimately doing services for free.

Discount Tire might be a good place to go if you have to get tire work done. But that is where the line stops. I went a couple months ago because my radiator had sprayed a little, due to me accidentally loosening the cap when I replaced my battery. This led to my check engine light coming on. I took it in to get tested and they said I needed a new radiator and recommended I get a new thermostat. Parts and labor was nearing $1500 in total costs.Took it to another place and the "crack" discount tire told me I had was magically gone, and all i had to replace was the thermostat. Cost $35 after I nice tip for saving me so much money.Discount tire tried to sell me a part I DIDN'T need and only recommended the part I really DID need.

Took a flat in on Saturday to have it looked at. Just before close called and they said it was ready, Went to pickup it and Discount said, no its not ready, its not repairable, bring it on Monday to replace it. Brought car in on Monday had to replace two tires. Discount didn't have then stock but would have them later in the day. I schedule a 2pm appt. At 2 arrived and waited until almost 3 before they started working on it. Discount also added extra warranty and never asked. I have had good service before but after today I am done with them.
