VERY POOR

Took my Pug in and she was having a hard time breathing and we thought she had a bladder infection they did an x-ray and found out that she had a bladder stone and she would need surgery but they would not do the surgery due to the breathing problem, and told me I needed to take her to a specialist for the breathing problem, they gave me a number to call. Did not make is sound urgent. but when I got in my car I called them to see if they could get her in that day since I was not far and they did. I was lucky to get her there when I did because the second I got her in the door they rushed her to the back and had to intubate as her throat swelled shut. She ended up have surgery but later died. I really feel like Animal Crackers was not telling me something that could have saved her life

Still in mourning

My dog swallowed a needle and thread. We didn't notice any problems for quite some time. When we did, we took her in. She was at Animal Crackers for a week and a half. Everyone there kept giving me false hope. I wished they would have told me right off the bat that she probably would not make it. She had one surgery to investigate the mess inside that the needle made. Then a week later, (I will not mention the Dr.s name) he performed another surgery without my permission or knowledge. She suffered the whole time she was there. When we finally decided to put her to sleep, we first wanted to take her home and love on her a final time. We could tell it was time, and so we called to let them know we were coming, they are usually fairly busy, and they said they were overbooked. We scrambled to find another vet who would do it. This vet took advantage of our frantic vulnerability and charged us way more than he should have. I found out the next day when I went back in to pay a bill for a week and a half stay. This added insult to injury, especially since it was then that we found out that they were waiting for us to bring her back to put her to sleep. I didn't want to bring her back in the pain she was in while they were so crazy busy. We now have another dog, and I took her in for shots and toe nail clipping. She has had trouble with her tails chipping and cracking. Twice I have taken her in to have the nail clipped down deep, and everything was fine. This time I thought the same thing was going to happen, but when I came to pick her up, they had amputated her toe, and charged me for something I had no idea was going to happen. Needless to say, I WILL NEVER GO BACK!!! They should get written permission from the owner and communicate what action they will take. That way the owner can then decide whether or not to go that route. In the case of my dogs toe, I found out from our new vet that it was likely she didn't need to go through the pain of an amputation.

Prices good.

They are ok. The wait is long and I don't like Dr. Clayton, he isn't very nice. If I come back I won't see him again.

Animal Crackers Veternary Hospital

Animal Crackers is great!! We started taking our dog there on the advice of a neighbor 11 years ago. Our two dogs had gotten into a fight, and the lttle one lost. They took such good care of him, patched him up & he lived for many years. Since then, we take all our animals there. Too bad they don't see people, cause the whole family would be going to them!

Animal Crackers

Animal Crackers is the most caring, reasonable and friendly place around! They have always treated us with respect and kindness. Both of our dogs have grown up with Animal Crackers. One has diabetes and the other epilepsy. They care about my dogs like my pediatricians care about my kids. LOVE THEM!

No customer service

I am very disappointed with Animal Cracker and will NEVER take my pets their ever again. My parents dog was given booster shots on Monday and Tuesday night she started to become weak, Wed morning I rushed her to an emergency vet, it was confirmed that the shots were making her sick and making her system shut down. My parents ended up having to put her down, rather than having her suffer. My parents called Animal cracker earlier on Wed and told them what kind of shape their dog was in and instead of getting her in and seen in a rush they wanted to wait till late afternoon that day to see her. She was part of our family and to not have any care in the world for her, is quite sad. Thank you for taking away our 6 year old dog.

horrible!

Only one visit to this vet and it is the last visit. The staff did not call me to approve services so instead of the visit being $38 they charged me over $200 and they scheduled a followup to take the drain they placed in my dogs leg out and I show up for my scheduled appointment and they were closed!!! I was not notified before hand and there was just a note on the door saying they were not opening until 12...what a joke!!!!

Great place to take your pets

I love Animal Crackers. The staff is always so pleasant and helpful when calling. I took my first dog i had. He treated her but also told me she had 6 months to live AND to give her all that she wanted. I did that. She ended up passing in those months. I took my cat Samuel in to get his lower lip sewed back on. Price was good. Lets just say i have taken all my pets to this place and im always pleased.

good prices

After seeing another vet for years and paying prices that were out of this world, I decided to look for a cheaper service. I have a 15 year old bichon that needed a tumor removed from his elbow. My current vet wanted to charge me 750.00 to have this done. After visiti ng animal crackers for a cheaper option they told me it would b 260.00. Wow what a savings. My dog had his surgery last week and is doing great and so is my pocket book. I will be changing over permanently. Even though animal crackers is basic they definitely can provide good care at a fraction of the cost.

They misdiagnosed my friends dog......... Storm had cancer and the worst care at this place -

They misdiagnosed my friends dog .....Storm was a beautiful big husky and he had cancer and had the worst care at this place, they did not even take a blood test to determine that he had cancer and did $4K worth of shawdy work you could ever know. They ultimately made him suffer the worst kind of pain and death. They also kept him in a kennel for 3 days and didn't take him out to pea!!! I could go on and on. Now that Storm has passed his family is so sad at realizing that he had no chance but Animal Crackers had filled them with false hope and put a steel rod in a cancerous bone just to get more money. Poor Poor Storm he suffered at the hands of this place. I as a pet owner that loves my pet so immensly am going to make it my mission to inform any pet owners to not take your pets to this place!!!

Some great people, some BAD

Dr. Palfreyman killed my dog. It was an honest mistake of giving too large of a shot (because he didn't weigh the dog and it had a lot of fur). But no apology and he actually rushed to cash the check. I just expected more from someone at this establishment... Please don't trust your pet to Dr. Palfreyman.

Great, Conservative Veterinarians

I have been going to Animal Crackers for 7 years now, and my family has seen Dr. Palfreyman for 20+ years. He is fantastic. The other two Dr.s are great too. I have taken my Lab to another vet for his hip dysplasia, because we live 40 minutes away from Animal Crackers, and he told me that he needed a hip replacement surgery for $9,000.00, and that there was nothing else we could do. Animal Crackers saw my dog the same week for another opinion and were willing to put him on an anti-inflammatory and a pain medication. This was a much better option because my dog is 10 years old. They will not try to persuade you to spend lots of money on things that aren't really necessary. Their prices are literally half on his medication and exams as the other vet. You have to wait awhile because they are so busy, but it is worth it. For a cat declaw the other vet quoted $220, and Animal Crackers was $80. Big difference in price with the same quality of care. I will always stay with them!!

For the love of a dane

Macy is a black great dane that we recently rescued form some so called breeders she had a litter of puppies after being left alone for two weeks and the babies all died she got infection after infection in her body including palmetra if I can spell the name. it is a utrus infection where the uterus sends toxins through the blood streem and she dies but Animal Crackers found the problem did the surgery and she is feeling better and going to be ok thank to them.

Thanks for noticing he had cancer. Oh wait, you didn't.

I took my dog to Animal Crackers at the age of 10 when he was dropping weight at an alarming rate. He was literally wasting away. Animal Crackers did a blood test and after seeing a high white cell count gave me an antibiotic to give to him. The antibiotic made him violently ill and didn't help his wasting problem at all.At the encouragement of my niece I took him to another vet. The new vet immediately noticed how emaciated he was, he'd even lost the fat reserves on his skull. He was barrel chested and heaving with each breath. She did an X-ray and I found out the terrible news - he had a massive tumor called a thymoma that was squashing his heart and had crushed one of his lungs so it could not longer expand. Thanks a lot Animal Crackers for failing to notice my dog had CANCER, not an infection! These people do not know their stuff at all, a simple x-ray would have shown the mass in his chest cavity. Do not take your pet here.
