TERRIBLE SERVICE /NOT ENOUGH FOOD – I am a first time patron. I co-hosted a shower for my daughter. This restaurant was recommended . We decided on a buffet style lunch. We originally booked for 50 people, but I called the restaurant 2 days ahead to inform them that there would be one less person (so 49 guests). As the guests started to arrive and sit at the tables, I noticed that there was not going to be enough seats. After doing a quick count, we found that the staff had only set up for 46 guests. The staff kept asking how many "extra" guests I was expecting – trying to insinuate that I would have more than what was booked. No extra, in fact, one less! There was a last minute scramble to arrange seating by squeezing in additional place settings on the existing tables. Food tasted good, but there was not enough, nor was it being replaced in time -- in particular the chicken dish – when the last table got up to get their food, the chicken tray was empty, so they had to wait for more. When the refill tray finally came out (after a long wait), only 8 pieces of chicken were in it. Did the kitchen staff count out “just enough” pieces for person, or what? I’m used to throwing parties that have been buffet style where there has ALWAYS been more than enough food for guests to go up more than once, plus there’s always take out containers provided if anyone wants to take food home --- no such thing here. Also, the arranged price included beverages of water, soda, ice tea --- water was the only thing being refilled on the tables. Guests were asking me if there was soda to drink or anything besides water. HOW EMBARASSING!!! When it was time for coffee, it was hit or miss here also --- a few tables got some, others had to ask. Several people asked for cappuccinos (which was not included in the agreed to menu) – guests were not told this, nor were the co-hosts informed that these orders were being placed. I found out when I noticed bills being handed to several of the guests. I quickly ran over and told the waitress to add these charges to my bill. NEEDLESS TO SAY, MY FAMILY WILL NEVER GO BACK TO LORENZO'S IN WEST HAVEN, NOR WILL I BE RECOMMENDING THEM TO ANYONE I KNOW.

We attended a party at Lorenzo's and the service was excellent and the food was delicious! We also ordered take-out and the service was prompt and again the food was delicious! I would recommend this restaurant!
