Provided by YP.comMy car is part of the Cobalt recall disaster of '14 with the ignition switch issue. I called on April 23 and ordered my part. Called back multiple times and told it wasn't in yet. I understand that wasn't their fault. So, I called early last week (week of 6/9)and asked for a loaner car if my part was going to be delayed any further. All of a sudden - my part is there! Nice. I should have stayed away. I make an appointment and inform them I have a remote starter. I was told it wasn't a problem.
Dropped the car off for service at 8am on Saturday, June 14 and informed the person that took the keys that I had a remote starter on the car. Great. Three hours later - car is ready. Go and get it and try the remote starter. It doesn't work. I walk back in and talk to the person at the desk who gets the manager. Older guy in a suit. He tells me it's an aftermarket remote starter and therefore not his problem. I ask how this is possible since it worked when I dropped it off. He continues to tell me it's not his problem. I call him a few choice words and leave. Except - MY CAR WON'T START. Get the manager again who tries - nothing. He goes to get a tech. It starts. The tech says he's going to check it out. We wait.
Wayne, the technician, came back out to talk to us with the name and number for a place i have to go to get the remote starter reset. He apologizes for the issue (THE FIRST PERSON TO DO SO!) and was the only good thing about this place. I now have to go to a different place to have them reset the starter before it can be used. If I hit the button - my car is on lockdown for 5-10 minutes and won't start.
I understand that the dealership isn't responsible for making my remote starter line up, especially since it is aftermarket. However, I informed them twice that I had one and was told it wasn't a problem. Then, when I told them it wasn't working, they acted like they had no clue my car had one installed....guess the remote started on the keys I gave them needed a BIGGER NOTE???
The way the manager spoke to me was unacceptable. It's not "his problem" is never something a customer should be told. Bottom line - Wayne, you should go to a different dealership. You don't belong with this group. I will NEVER go here again, and because of this experience and the recalls that GM has been plagued with, I will not be buying a GM. Good luck on continuing to cause your customers pain.
