Provided by SuperpagesDr. Buro told me that I needed a root canal since I was having a lot of pain only when chewing on a replacement molar filling for about a month's time. I was wary of this diagnosis since all he did was look at my X-ray, listen to my symptoms and had me bite down on an instrument next to the sore tooth. He said it was my best option. I went for a second opinion to a long-time family dentist whom my family trusts. She did several nerve sensitivity tests and came to the decision that not only did I NOT need a root canal, but the filling wasn't even near my root, which you could clearly see on the Xray (as long as you know what you're looking for!). She said the filling was done properly and she suspected that it was the bonding agent they used that was causing the nerve sensitivity, which is common. A week later, the pain is clearing up! Dr. Buro is unethical -- even though he might be good at what he does, misleading me with a grossly false diagnosis has cost him our family's business.

Provided by SuperpagesMy dentist in New York City was a disaster and my gums deteriorated. I was scheduled for surgery, but moved to D.C. before I could have it. Found Dr. Buro through recommendation. He saved my gums without surgery and I've been loyal every since. Consistently good hygienists, despite the normal turnover. Keeps up with high-tech innovations. I still go to him, despite moving back to New York City 8 years ago, and I always will, no matter where I live. He even came in on a day the office was closed for me and it turned out that it was his wedding day! I couldn't believe it. He said, "Well, you came all the way from New York - it was the least I could do." Nor many guys like that. Very caring as well as a good dentist.
