I am a lifetime resident of DC. I was a child during the 69 riots when all of the department stores along the 14th Street corridor were vandalized following the death of Dr. Martin Luther King. We have waited 40 years for this change and it was worth the wait. I went to the Grand Opening of this store and it was a sight to behold. It was good to see the diversity of the customers not to mention that this store is very well organized along with friendly employees. Be advised that the lines are nearly out the door while people and kids are literally everywhere. But because we are so glad to have Marshall's in our area, everyone appeared to be happy and patient. The store is rather small and tight, but it has something to offer everyone. Once again, I must commend the employees and management for their professional manner in dealing with the public.
