This is the worst company EVER...

This is the worst company EVER!!! What everyone has said here is completely TRUE!! They sell bad cars and treat their consumers horribly. My husband had his truck not even a week and something in the front end started cutting into the drum. We heard a weird noise and took it to a mechanic ... the guy said if we had waited any longer it would have broken and possibly killed us and whoever else was around. When we tried to get them to fix it, it was like pulling teeth. We held on to the part just in case they tried to do something sneaky and we had to take them to court. Today we didn't answer the phone because we didn't recognize the number ... they contacted my mother, my husbands ex-wife, her father, and her mother, and also a friend my husband used to work with lying to them saying we had used them as references when we had not. We are getting rid of this vehicle tomorrow!!

Horrible company

This is the worst company ever! My husband got out of the army and we have 2 small children and hit a hard spot! I called them to volenteer to surrender the car and was verbally attacked on the phone and was treated horrible! She lied to my husband about late payments and tried to start a fight between us. Never use this company!!!!

BEWARE OF COASTAL CREDIT FINANCE VIRGINIA BEACH

Wow so i looked this company up to write a review after the incredibly horrendous and unprofessional experience I just had with them and find all kinds of bad reviews. I wish i had done this before signing any kind of paperwork to them. I got a car loan with them in 2012 while i was on active duty and yes they broke my tail with the interests. Now, once they found out i was no longer active duty things were just bad because they called every other day saying that the car had never been paid on time and such things. That we owed a whole year of late fees that according to my bank statements are different all the time. But i had an allotment that THEY set up... How was i late on my payments? Crazy! They called about a week before the payment was due with the most nasty attitude they could possibly have and if the answer was not what they were looking for they would start their threats about repossessing the car. Now they called me december 9th demanding the 2 months i was behind which were nov n dec....but wait dec is not due till the 15th thats in 5 days. I have NO money literally right now...bank account -$66 nothing to my name or even for groceries. Its freaking Christmas give me a stupid break!!! I told them i could not make a payment till jan 1st and she proceeded to check some how my husbands job. Called back and said that she verified my husbands employment and demanded the payments. Little nasty attitude lady if you don't know what is going on you shut up. Well after so many threats of repossession within a few minutes i simply said...do what you gotta do because i cant steal. And it might sound irresponsible but i have to put food in my table for my children before i pay your stupid loan. Sure enough like thiefs at night they took the car in the middle of the night. Now im guessing they will want to sue us and even charge me for the keys that were waiting for them by the door! DONT EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS PEOPLE. ITS AN UNPROFESSIONAL FINANCIAL INSTITUTION UNPROFESSIONAL EMPLOYEES NASTY ATTITUDE WILL CALL YOUR WHOLE FAMILY AND FRIENDS BECAUSE YOUR PAYMENT IS DUE IN A WEEK OR Two.

One star??? Make that double 0!!!!

This company is a scam never do financing through them. If you're unable to make a payment they will repossess your car straight away and will sue you for the loan then resell the car right away. This company doesn't help anybody and will try anyway to scam you.

rejected for false reasons!?

I am active duty military. I joined in 2003 with no gap in service. My wife and I tried to get a car this past week but were rejected. We got our rejection letter today. Reason for rejection was "employment is part time, temporary or seasonal". Can you explain that one to me?

I wish I didn't have to give a star, at all.

Problems with this company, mostly starting with the moment they were notified that my husband was no longer Active Duty Army. my husband got a car loan through Coastal Credit, LLC back in October 2010, while he was Active Duty Military. Financing for 4 years. Everything was fine, except for the company did not give any receipts for payments or balance information. We had statements showing that a military pay allotment was done, but the company never gave us a receipt or other balance information. They stated that they did not give coupon books or anything of the like, that it was our responsibility to keep track of our own balance. Which would have been fine, but we were otherwise occupied with a child who was battling Childhood Cancer. The company was made aware of this.

After my husband left the military, things got rocky for our family. On Halloween day, 2012, we brought our 10 year old son home to die in his home after a 5 year battle with Childhood Cancer. My husband informed the company that he was no longer Active Duty, and a man at the company immediately wanted to arrange pick up of the vehicle that we financed through them.

Yes, we started to become late with payments, even though the company would call for payment starting a few days Before the due date. When you are caring for a dying child, and later making funeral arrangements, things get crazy. Especially when you have 3 services in 3 different states. But the company always got their payments.

Today, August 10, 2013, the vehicle was repossessed. We were, to our best knowledge, less then 2 weeks late. The Repo man told us straight out that the company ordered him (the repo company) to pick up the vehicle overnight, on a weekend while the company was closed, not giving us the chance to remove our items or get the key or to contact them right away.

the repo man reported that the company told him that they knew that this was our only vehicle and that they would not be working with us, as they were aware that my husband would not be able to get to work. Coastal Credit LLC is well aware that this is not just a vehicle. This vehicle has been a home on wheels, in a manner of speaking. We put about 65k medical miles on this vehicle. this vehicle is a connection to our dead child, and the only means of transportation in order to make money to live and pay our bills.

also the repo man who did come, he did not identify himself, did not show us orders, nothing. he only said to contact the company. Coastal Credit LLC is pretty seedy, with brief moments of willingness to work with people. we only have 1 more year on this loan, and Coastal Credit LLC instructed to just take the vehicle, with the intimate knowledge of the circumstances.

they tried to take the vehicle with the job change. they did take the vehicle, admitting that they knew that without it, my husband would not be able to get to work, making it impossible to pay the loan.

also, this company never has our correct full contact information, no matter how many times we give it. we would like for them to get all contact information correct.

DO NOT do business with this company.

My boyfriend bought a car in DE nearly 7 years ago. The car was repossessed and sold. They obtained a judgement for $7866.42 - it was a default judgement, as he was not notified of the proceedings. It was obtained 6/15/06.

We have been in contact with the company to ensure that all the data we have is correct. One of their representatives, Todd Brister, flat out refused to provide me with information about the loan and car. We were able to obtain information from the original dealership, which the original cost of the car was $9663 before tax, title, and license, and value of the trade-in. According to the dealership, $500 was provided as a down payment and 14 payments of $281.72 were made before the car was 'voluntarily surrendered' on 4/5/06. Putting the math together, the loan was for approximately $7866.42 (this the 'original amount of judgement'). Let's estimate high on the interest rate at 15% - by 6/06 the loan would not have been more than $5700. Coastal Credit claims that the loan was $13,522.56 and the 'original' loan amount is not present.

The paperwork we received in the mail shows that the judgement was for $7866.42 - $3680.91 (total credits) = $4280.55 - which is dated 6/15/2006. The car was sold for $3800 on 6/14/2006. This number does not show up anywhere on the documents. From my understanding, the amount that the car was sold for after it was repossessed should have been deducted from the amount that he still owed - ending up in this case that he should have owed less than $500. Recently, which is why we received documentation and became aware of this, Coastal Credit renewed that judgement, to which interest was added, totaling that judgement over $10,000. Sleezy businesses should not be allowed to get away with practices like this.

In the last 7 years, this company has not tried to collect on the judgement. They have not even notified him that it had been obtained, or that money was owed. Now that he is living in Texas with a job that pays well, they are garnishing his wages. Due to the laws in DE, the 'normal' seven year statute on debt is not applicable. Because Coastal Credit obtained a judgement, and has judicially renewed it throughout the years, the debt is still owed and will not just 'drop off.' Provided they continue to renew the judgement, this debt could be alive indefinitely.

I have filled out the proper forms to vacate the judgement, which was accepted by the court, but we are told that someone will have to be present at the hearing. We have contacted lawyers in the area, but they all state that it will be $5k + to have someone represent us in this matter.

I understand that legal fees can be expensive, and that sometimes it is necessary for one to go to court, but this seems unfair. We have even contacted the Attorney General in DE, but we were only referred to a legal help line. The fact that Coastal Credit did not inform the court that the car was sold for $3800, and is still attempting to collect (and is currently getting garnishing his wages) for a debt that they are not legally owed seems like it should be fraud, and we should not have to pay a lawyer or take days off and fly half way across the country to be in court ourselves for this to be resolved.

Coastal Credit needs to inform the court that the judgement has been fulfilled, and no more money is owed, so that the hearing to vacate the judgement is not necessary. They have already garnished enough money to fulfill the amount that was owed after the sale of the car. They are not entitled to money that is ordered under fraudulent circumstances.

We have a petition that can be signed here to get them to resolve this properly: http://www.change.org/petitions/coastal-credit-stop-pursuing-a-judgement-for-money-you-are-not-owed

If you have had experiences with them like this, I highly recommend doing the same. Please feel free to email at [email protected] if you have had a similar experience.

I wish that I could give this place 1/4 star because they will put forth a 1/4 effort in satisfying their customers according to their needs. Their conduct over the telephone is completely unprofessional because they lie. They've lied to me twice today regarding me getting my vehicle redemption back. They were extremely professional, fast, accurate, and easy going when it came to me making a payment of $1273.00. After that, well everything went out of the window. Making this payment, they led me to believe that I would have my vehicle back by the end of the day. That wasn't the case, they claimed that I would get my vehicle back the following day for no apparent reason and they for the most part were unwilling to help. Only after, having several verbal debates were they willing to help, but they would take the time in the process even by lying to me a few times. They lied about information being faxed to release the vehicle, which the tow company had not received, as well as the name of the tow company that they claimed to have told me and they didn't. When I questioned the employees supervisor named Eric, about their conduct he simply told me that it wasn't my concern or business even though the subject of the matter was regarding me being misled. Furthermore, He also told me that my calls would go to his office and he would simply hang up each time. He had no interest in the customers' side of the story, only that his employees were getting money and doing their job half heartedly. Stay away from this place to avoid headaches for both you and your wallet.

This has got to be the worst c...

This has got to be the worst company ever!!!! I had bought a car with them a few years back and fell on hard financial times while I was serving in the military. I was incarcerated and they repoed my car. I was always led to believe that when you get repoed, they sell your car and charge you what the balance is after they sell the car. 3 years later I get a notice that my bank account was going to be garnished and I set up payment arrangements to stop the garnishment. I missed payments because I was laid off from work and now they seized my bank account. I financed the car for 10,000 and after interest it was supposed to be like 13,000. I think they sold the car at auction and for some reason I owe 22,000 now...How much sense does that make?? Is there anyway for me to handle this. Anyone have suggestions
