Ann Turner has always been an animal lover and drawn to emergency medicine. She stresses that her number one priority is the patients and their owners! "We combine state-of-the-art veterinary medicine with compassionate caring veterinarians and technicians. We strive to provide the best health care possible for those special family members."Dr. Turner received her Associates of Science at NWC in Powell, WY and Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology at the University of Wyoming. She then went on to Fort Collins, CO where she earned her DVM from Colorado State University. She worked during her studies as an assistant at an emergency clinic in Aurora, Colorado. She spent the first 1 years after graduation at Cross Creek Animal Hospital. Her emphasis was equine and small animal medicine. Dr. Turner then spent 10 years at Animal Urgent Care in Fayetteville, NC. One of her most challenging and successful procedures was open heart surgery on a puppy! "I love my profession and my passion will always be emergency work and soft tissue surgery!" Dr. Turner noticed the need for an after hour emergency facility in The Sandhills. This propelled her dream to open her own emergency clinic. The vision finally became a reality when she opened Small Animal Emergency Services in Aberdeen on January 18, 2006! Due to a steady increase of patients, a new facility has been built on US Hwy 1 in the Vass/Southern Pines area. The new facility has over 4000 square feet and was completed in April 2009. My cat started acting weird. She did this for 2 1/2my husband took her to SAES. The Dr treated her for toxins with out even taking a urine sample. They took blood but could not tell if there was toxins because they do not have the the necessary equipment to test for it but treated her for it anyway without running any other test. The Dr. Actually laughed at me when I asked if it could be a UTI.They called saying the cat was doing good but not out of the woods flushing her for toxins giving her meds to calm her never running any other test. I told told the Dr that the cat was an indoor cat,we do not have any chemicals out for her to get into. The only change was I had bought a different brand of wet food for her. My cat died and the only thing they could tell us was they did not know what was wrong and that they basically guessed and treated her for the guess. They told me if I wanted to know I could take her corps to Reilegh to some clinic that could run test on her.

Bad experence

Warning.....They only care about money!!! My puppy had a acorn stuck in his intestine. The vet told us that our puppy needed surgery to be removed. The vet did not tell us about any risk. They were in a hurry to get us to sign the papers for surgery and to take a deposit. They did the surgery and my puppy did not survive!!!! They do not care about the animals all they care about is the money!!!!

My puppy had a blockage in his intestine. We took him to Vass emergency vet. They said that he needed surgery for an object to be removed. They went to tell us that they do this kind of surgery all the time and even did this type of surgery on one dog three times. They did not explain all the risk! They were in a big hurry for us to agree on the surgery and to take a deposit. . They made us believe that everything would be fine. They did the surgery and within three days my puppy was not doing well. I took him back and they did more X-rays and said that he needed a second surgery to see what was wrong well my puppy did not make it through the second surgery. They said he was septic!!! My puppy was the joy to our lives which they took from us at Christmas!! Feel free to form your own opinion about this place but I do not trust this place at all. I feel all they care about is money!!!! They did not care about my puppy or my husband of I. They even asked for the medications that we paid for back. Sorry place in my opinion!!!!
