This is the shop to go to for consistent, good advice when you have a mechanical problem. Repairs are done right for a really fair price. Always friendly and helpful service.

I purchased a tricycle at DHC for my oldest daughter 10 years ago and was impressed with the service we received for such a simple purchase. We continued Frank is the best bike mechanic, he has always been helpful and provided quick service, often while we wait in the shop. He maintains everything we own from a high-end road bike to our kids' moutain and bmx bikes. His advice around purchases and great prices make it easy to come back every time. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I have brought my bike(s) to Dr. Hill cyclery (DHC) for over 10 years. Even after I moved from Dr. Hill, and even after a new bike shop opened only a mile or so from my house. But not again - not EVER again. I brought my son's bike to get a wheel replaced. When we got the bike home, my son climbed on - rode 200 yds and the new wheel folded. I called DHC - and told him what happened. I asked him what could have gone wrong - we had JUST had the wheel replace. "Bring it in, I'll tell you what he did." ??? We arrived and without looking at the bike, without asking what had happened, he pointed to my son and said "He knows what happened. He's lying to you." I can't tell you how appalled I was at that kind of rudeness. No matter what he thinks took place, he had no cause to make that kind of accusation - even if I'd never brought a bike in to him before. Frank is unarguably an able mechanic - I've spent years recommending him - to cyclist and triathletes who wanted a good mechanic and no fuss. But I cannot, in good faith, recommend him again. There's other local bike shops around - I suggest you find one of them.

Every few years I bring a bike to Drexel Hill Cyclery (DHC) for a tune-up, a part, some minor fix. The mechanic there is very knowledgeable, work is done fast. We talk...he's a gear-head, he's a decent sort, a business owner. Well, things changed pretty darn quick. I brought my 17 year old son's bike to him 2 days ago - he needed a new wheel. When we got the bike home, he climbed on to ride to a friend's house - got a couple hundred yards down the road when the wheel folded - the new wheel. I called DHC and asked what could have happened. ""Bring it in, I'll tell you what he did."" ?? When we arrived, he pointed at my son and said ""He knows what happened,"" and went on to accuse my son of lying - that he MUST have done something to cause the wheel to bend and he must not be telling me - though I hadn't said a word he accused us of trying to ""get a new wheel out of me."" Now, since I'm not a high-end customer, maybe he doesn't remember how LONG I've been coming to him for this-and-that. He certainly can't know how many times I've recommended him to cyclists and triathletes as an alternative to the sexy bike shops in the city... All that aside - if I were no one at all and he'd never seen me before, he had no right to treat me and my business that way. I'm so disappointed - I love the local business option to the mega-chain stores. I'll find some other bike shop. I'm not going back to DHC.

i needed new tires for my wheelchair, oh that's right, i know its sexy, but i digress: i was in need of some new tires for my wheelchair and my supply company dropped its wheelchair program. so like i said, i was in need. The guy that answered the phone knew right away that the measurements were for a wheelchair and was more than happy to help. Drexel Hill Cyclery, not just for bikers anymore. :)
