Our vent-less washer/dryer wasn't drying properly; we assumed it was our 4 pets causing a clog so we called Mr. Appliance.
Visit 1 (Oct 10th) technician could not find any clog. Decided it was a burned out blower. Charged $240 of a $480 bill and ordered the part; said he'd be back on the 19th.
Oct. 19th--no tech. Called and was told the part was back ordered--rescheduled for Oct 26th. **THIS IS THE BEST PART: I received an email receipt that OPENLY ADMITTED I WAS LIED TO, that the part was NEVER ordered in the first place! (See attached)
Oct. 26th Blower put in and deemed NOT to be the problem. New control board ordered
Nov. 5 New control board put in and balance charged
DRYER STILL DIDN'T WORK. Side note: the tech quit during this time after calling the company, its office staff and owner "a mess"
Nov. 14 Finally the owner Alan came out and wouldn't you know it? HE FOUND A SIMPLE CLOG! Suddenly the dryer worked fine.
But shockingly in a case of unbelievably poor customer service, dishonesty and awful business practices--ALAN WOULD NOT REFUND ANY OF OUR MONEY! We were happy to pay the $90 service call fee that should've handled the problem on the first visit...Now we are out over $430 on the bill, another $175 from using the laundromat unnecessarily for two months, and I wasted THREE days off with repairmen.
AVOID MR. APPLIANCE--IT IS A SHODDY OPERATION RUN BY A MAN CLEARLY MORE CONCERNED WITH PROFITS THAN FAIRNESS
