Dutcher Magnet School serves students in grades kindergarten through grade six. Established in 1995, the school provides project-oriented instruction, including integrated thematic instruction based upon student learning styles. Its academic curriculum includes English, language arts, mathematics and social studies. The school additionally offers classes in physical education, music, arts and dance. It has a library that houses a wide collection of fiction, nonfiction and storybooks, dictionaries and newspapers. The school also has a psychologist and speech therapist for students. Located in Turlock, Calif., its parent-teacher association organizes various programs, activities and guidance sessions to bring teachers, parents and students together. Dutcher Magnet School is affiliated with the Turlock Unified School District.
