BUYER BEWARE!!

Thank you for using the Better Business Bureau's Online Complaint System.Complaint Description:The service I was promised was not what was delivered. On 9/6/13 I secured the services of Quality Restoration to dry out minimal water damage caused by a blocked p-trap (Order #9090). I was promised professional service from Chris who stated he would be overseeing the work that was done and would follow up with me on Monday 9/9/13 to see if the work provided met my satisfaction. He stated he would also provide me with a bid for the replacement of the dry wall, return all of my furniture that was moved (washer/dryer, TV, etc.) and replace the pad on the carpet that they ripped out, clean and stretch the carpet and return it to how it was prior to their arrival. He knows that I am physically unable to move the furniture back due to the fact that I am recovering from recent shoulder surgery & I clarified this with him. Over the weekend I received a bid from a contractor who has over 30 years experience in the water restoration business and he informed me that for less that 2 hours worth of work I was highly taken advantage of and that for $1200, repairs should have included the repairs. It is taking less that 2 sheets of drywall to repair all the damage incurred. On Monday, 9/9/13, I was expecting Chris to show up and ask how everything went, provide me with a bid for the repairs, etc. One of his workers showed up first thing Monday morning between 8-9 AM. I let him know I was not happy with what I had found out over the weekend and to have Chris call me right away. I tried calling the office numerous times and finally asked for his manager. The receptionist with pathetically poor customer service skills stated the manager was not available and that they may get back to me sometime in the next couple of days. About 5 minutes later Chris calls with an attitude and gives me excuse after excuse as to why he never followed up with me and that it was not his responsibility to follow up with every customer, even though this is what he promised. After asking me what my concerns were, he cut me off at every sentence not allowing me to speak and tried to say he had not promised me what he did, which is a blatant lie. When I asked when they were going to come and replace all the furniture that was moved, stretch, tack down, clean and replace the padding in the carpet, he stated they weren't go to do any of those things even though he promised all of these things as well. He said they would only do this if I hired them to do the repairs. He never did provide me with a bid and by Wednesday I had hired someone to repair the dry wall only, not the carpet or to return the furniture. During my conversation with Chris, it was very obvious he was irritated about having to call me and when I raised all of these issues with him he continued to raise his voice at me and cut me off constantly when I was trying to speak. I told him he could either refund me $500 for not keeping his promises for the services that were to be delivered and were not, including the over charge for services to begin with, or that I would report the company to the BBB. Of course when I dished back to him the attitude he was giving to me he couldn't take it and said this conversation is over, which at that point I was more than happy to hang up, since he was not keeping his promises. This has been an appalling display of unprofessional behavior by Quality Restoration and has been very upsetting needless to say. I guess once they had my money they could careless. I was in a situation where I needed to retain services to dry out the walls prior to the weekend so I would not run the risk of mold growth. Knowing I was in a bind, Chris took full advantage of the situation to pad his own pocket, and yet he claims to have integrity. Yikes!! This company will take your money & run, ...

A Job Well Done

When you wake up at 5:30 in the morning, get out of bed, and your feet are wet, you know you are in trouble. On that fateful morning a representative was at our house while it was still dark checking on what the problem was and what to do about it.Shortly thereafter the trucks arrived and the men, I think there were six, poured into the house and began cleaning things up and setting up their equipment.During the course of the repairs, the men were always courteous, understanding, explained things when we had questions, and always cleaned up after themselves when their work made a mess.We also appreciated their working with our insurance company and the bank that had to send money to us so we could pay them.We have and will continue to highly recommend Quality Restoration to anyone who is in need of ther services and when we tell people about our sprinkler going off and the problems we had, we always tell them about them.Vincent B

Nobody Does It Better

My husband and I wish there could be musical accompaniment to this review … if there were, it would be a choir of angels singing the praises of Quality Restoration. While our primary residence is in Michigan, we’ve owned another dearly beloved home in Tucson for over five years. Furnished and decorated with cherished handmade items that go back for generations, our entire extended family enjoys this house at least a dozen times a year and we plan to retire here. We’ve been fortunate to make many friends in our Oro Valley neighborhood – thank goodness one of them knew of Quality Restoration. On April 4, 2013, a Thursday afternoon, we received a phone call from a neighbor telling us that a burst pipe had been discovered in our house – the entire ground floor had been under two inches of running water for five days. As we were 2,000 miles away, we trusted our friend to try to contact a catastrophe clean-up business. He chose Quality Restoration.Quality Restoration was in touch with us immediately with everything we needed for them to proceed. Within an hour, multiple trucks were rolling to our address even before Quality Restoration had received our paperwork by fax. Swinging into action, eight men worked until midnight to begin the initial rescue of our home. Their state-of-the-art equipment is mind-boggling and, boy, do they know how to put it to use. When we arrived on Sunday, the ground floor was gutted to the studs, insulation removed from exterior walls, all appliances had been removed and stored, wall-to-wall carpet and disintegrated cabinets torn out, damaged furniture and Persian carpets removed for restoration, and umpteen industrial fans and dehumidifiers were roaring like an advancing army. Again, there were eight guys working like mules, each one with a task, nobody wasting time. Absolutely nothing was done in a leisurely fashion. It was overwhelming to see our house in this condition, but immensely comforting to see the professional efforts of these men.For the next two weeks while we stayed in a condo nearby, Kristy and Lem Nash, the owners, and Johnny Manriquez were available to us 24 hours a day. Because our daughter and her family already had airline tickets to visit Tucson at the end of May, we asked a nearly impossible schedule of Quality Restoration. Could our house be back to normal before the kids arrived? “You betcha!” On May 15, 2013 (41 days after we received the devastating call – an incredibly short time considering the severity of damage our home had suffered), they met us at our door like an episode of Extreme Makeover. The entire house was perfection – walls rebuilt and painted, new carpet installed, pictures on the walls precisely replaced, carpets on the floors, furniture properly situated, clothing in the closets. Kristy even laundered our sheets and made our bed! Quality Restoration’s phones are ALWAYS answered live, never by a service. (We must have driven them crazy, sometimes calling six times a day with questions when we weren't in Tucson.) They battle the insurance company for you, looking out for your best interest even if it means headaches for them. Honest, compassionate and professional in every respect, they lead you by the hand through the process. Kaylynn, Lem’s daughter, also mans the office and was a constant reassurance. Johnny Manriquez was the supervisor of our job; there is no harder worker or a person of higher integrity than Johnny. When we returned to Michigan, he kept us informed of progress on a daily basis, going a long way to calm our anxiety. This has been an emotional experience for us, but because of Quality Restoration – Lem, Kristy, Johnny and their crew – it has been so successful. Our hous...

Dorthy's review is from the business itself

Dorthy's review is not a real review. This is QR's MO. If anything negative comes out, they go into crisis mode and add glowing reviews online. See the ARS issues with BBB in the Star recently. QR has done the same thing with BBB. They donate to the BBB and use delay tactics to stall and have complaints thrown out. The BBB is no longer credible. They owner has a father who has deep pockets. Use them if you like. This is easily the most unscrupulous business in town. Again, use them. You'll find out for yourself. The owner has some serious issues. Go look up the owner for court cases, active and historical. Do you believe any reputable company would be in court that often? Ask former customers. Do not take my word for it. Do not take other reviews or BBB rating as gospel. Speak, personally, to others and don't rely on QR to get you those names. This company is shrewd and really, really sneaky. I'm surprised they're still in business. BTW, I worked with them.

Very pleased with this company!

I came home one evening and my home was completely flooded. I called this company and they arrived within an hour. The workers were so nice and reassuring and made me feel completely at ease. I had to stay in a hotel for a week while my house was getting dried and repaired. My insurance company was surprised at how fast they were able to get me back into my home. I would highly recommend them and have told all my friends and neighbors about Quality Restoration.
