Probably the single worst vehicle purchase attempt I have ever had the dishonor of dealing with. I got a fairly bad vibe from the minute I walked in, but liked the vehicle so thought I would give it a shot. Figures were thrown out, nothing was really agreed upon, but they still tried to get me to sign a "generic" contract. Luckily I did not. The next day I get called with "good news", what we had thought was going to work out came through. Yay right?! Wrong! While the payment was what was discussed there was now mysteriously an extra year added to the term of the loan, the trade in value of my current car was suddenly less then we agreed upon the day before as well. All in all there was roughly an additional $1,800 in misc fees that were added on top of that $700. When I attempted to get an explenation all I got was "well come in and we can talk". I told them they can come down in price and we can talk, and I get a "Let me explain the numbers to you" in response. All I can say is this, pay very close attention to what you sign here. They tacked an extra year on and added additional fees to turn a profit, yet attempt to sneak it in there. Then they will gladly talk down to you like you dont know what you are talking about. They made the mistake of thinking I was a nobody, but luckily I came from the world of financing so I know exactly how, dealerships especially, work. They attempted to blind site me and then treated me like a child in an attempt to "make sense" of it all to me. Look up the dealerships reviews in Phoenix where they come from as well, you will find the same business tactics are used across the board with Chapman. I have a few friends who have worked at dealerships for over 15 years, I was warned about their shady finance tactics by them as well. They have a reputation, and I can honestly vouch that it is an accurate reputation.
