Beware!!! I have brought my boxer puppy here several times, and the owner is very unpersonable, unprofessional, and should not own this business of taking care of your loved pet. Every time I went to pick my dog up, he was very angry and upset (every single time), no matter what the case was, even after he took my money. The last time I went to pick him up (which was the last time), the owner became enraged because my boxer was jumping around and playing with the other dogs, and he could not leash him quick enough, to get him out of the fenced in area.. He came back inside saying that if my dog did this again, that he would never take him back. Little did he know that my fiance was waiting out in the car and could see him trying to catch my dog.. He became frustrated, and very upset, where he lifted the leash above his head like he was going to lash out and hit my dog with this leash. (this would have been a whole other story if i had viewed this) With the anger this owner shows, EVERY TIME i go there, and the abuse that he more than likely shows ALL dogs, I WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN.. HORRIBLE ... just beware...

This is a great kennel run by real dog people. Your dog will get dirty, wet, etc. This is not a kennel where your dog is stuck in a crate or run all day long where he/she will stay nice and clean. This is a kennel where your dog gets to socialize and run and play with other dogs the entire time they are there! My dog, a very highly active yellow lab, LOVES to go to the kennel! When we arrive at Shagg Bark, I have to struggle to hold his leash to keep him from running right in. It's great! I don't feel guilty leaving my dog to go on vacation because I know going to Shagg Bark is like a vacation for him as well. I hear other people say they have to drag their dog into the kennel, and how much their dog hates going there, and I am just so happy I've found Shagg Bark! My dog loves it, and it's actually LESS EXPENSIVE than the traditional style kennels my friends use.



And if you are that worried about your dog getting dirty, they will also bath/groom your dog if you request. Granted there is a fee for this, but I've had them wash our lab while he was there, and he did come home soft, shinny, and smelling pretty.
