Owners are extremely rude and the place is dirty and in need of repairs. They say they have been doing this for over 40 years, well the place shows it. It is time they moved on and let someone who wants to make it great again move in. They have no problem telling you it is their place and if you don't like it leave. Party area floor was soaking wet and smelled. Servers were ok at best. Skates were in very poor condition with most having laces way to short to even be comfortable to wear. Skate rink is worn and has dips in it which are dangerous in the very dimly lit area. This place needs to be condemmed and gutted before it is worthy of being called a skating rink. There are other rinks around and those are the one to patronize.

Disgusting award for March 2010

My experience here was a nightmare..I attended the roller rink because my child's school in Oak Forest host fundraiser night here....I have gone here 2 times in 4 years an no improvment just disappointment.....From the outside of the rink it looks like a haunted house, all dark on the outside landscape is not appealing...thur the doors past the cashier window you get a good wiff of what my kids call this rink's odor, "The stinky feet" smell...They have carpet from the entrance to the eating area into the party rooms on their homemade bench's they have carpet on the seat's as well...the carpet runs halfway up the wall in the building...Mind you this carpet looked like no one ever vacummed nor shampoo vacummed it...im no expert but the nasty musty smell could be caused from the water leakage from the ceiling over the rink floor, which more than likely could be infested with mold considering the place is in bad shape...Some of the ceilings tiles are missing from the damange and the ones that remain are stained brownish yellow from the water...I phyically felt like i was having an astma attack and i was only there for 20 min...The Rink attandant was texting on his phone while skating and not watching the children's safety needs, or he would skate out of the building thur the locker area and go outside for a period of 2-5min at a time to talk on his phone...Restrooms are gross...The consession stand area was unorganized, they had 3 young kids 15, 16, or 17 the most opperating the food area...I know its so simple to hire young kids and pay then cheap, but teach them that handling money directly from a customer, then into a register and then grabbing there hotdog buns all without washing their hands, or wearing gloves is a No, No...it dosen't cost much to by a bottle of hand sanitizier, and 10 sec's to tell them how to use it...They are proud to hold plaques on their walls which they have been awarded but they must of forgot, that the year for their awards are from the 1970"s and we are now in 2010...So in other words those where the last years before your buisness went down hill, pretty sad especially knowing that Tinley Park is a very well maintanced growing buisness and family living area....Sad to say but this Roller Rink is garbage, stay home and save your money than go to this junk hole....

Would not go back.

It has been ten years since I have been skating. I own a very expensive pair of skates and when I realized they still fit I was excited to get them back on! My experience at the Tinley Park Roller Rink was upsetting. I could tell the floors have not been vacuumed in a long time. The rink floor was filthy. I spent most of the night scrapping dirt off my wheels. For some reason people were allowed on the rink floor with their shoes on. There was even a boy, in his shoes, walking on the rink floor drinking a bottle of pop. We went on family night so there were a lot of kids there. For some reason they were allowed to skate in whatever direction they wanted. I don't think that some of the music that was played was family friendly. I wouldn't want my six year old hearing some of those songs. I also didn't know that this place was dog friendly! I seen a small dog inside the building when I first arrived. A short time later while I was taking a break in the concession area a Doberman Pinscher came running towards me. Both dogs came from behind the concession stand which is not sanitary at all! I wouldn't recommend ordering food from the concession stand. The woman's restroom was very dirty and smelled bad. I would like to start teaching my daughters how to skate and I was hoping this would be the place to do that. I was still able to enjoy myself even with all the issues I had with this roller rink. It would be great if they cleaned up the place, got rid of the dogs and maybe did some upgrading or remodeling. I'm going to peel the dirt off my wheels and find a different place to skate.

skating fun

When I was younger I came here for years. Now my kids come here to skate and make friends. However, as my recent experiences there are just so so. The place can definately be remodeled or updated, the floors can be taken better care of, there are small dips in the floor and some rough spots periodically. Its a bit run down on the inside, but would not mind my kids being here. Its safe, lots to do for the kids and a nice concession stand for refreshments. Always a "guard" at the entrance to make sure things are going smoothly. The employees are friendly. However the party packages can definately be a bit better, a bit to expensive for my taste for so little. Over all I give a B- to a C+ overall.
