Nicholls State University, located in Thibodaux, La., is a coeducational regional institution, serving students in south central Louisiana. Founded in 1948 as Francis T. Nicholls Junior College of Louisiana State University, it offers a range of undergraduate and graduate programs in arts and sciences, business administration, education, nursing and allied health, and continuing and adult education.
