Doctor ignored all medical records and misdiagnosed an already diagnosed health issue. Was given meds that only made it worse. Called to find out why the doctor ignored me and my medical file including mri and never recieved a return call back to fix this. Will not trust this place after all they have done wrong.... Just glad i found out before this place gave me aids or hepatitis!

I was out of work, had no income, no insurance carried over, no Cobra available and applied for Indigent Care @ Coastal. I was approved but never informed; Maria was supposed to call me & set up an appointment but dropped the ball (she never even tried; I had NO missed calls). I was assigned to "Dr" Mary Ogundiran. She's an NP who never consulted a physician regarding my medicine dosages. I know this as they would take an A1C, mins later she entered the room, opened my chart for the 1st time, then decided to increase my insulin. She also decided to raise the cost of my basic office visit to $178/ea when nothing had changed from visit to viist. Even with their 40% discount I can see a licensed physician for less than that (which I started doing)! I was out of work, but NP Ogundiran told me I HAD TO get insurance (why? so they can charge more???). The woman in Indigent Care yelled @ me when I asked if I had coverage. She said they sent a letter stating my care expired 10/14 (just like the calls, I never received it) the last letter I received said it was good through 10/31 (it's a moot point, no reason to yell, I NEVER used it!). When I got insurance for Oct & Dec (I'll have Medicare starting January, Yay!), the cost of my insulin went from $15/mo to over $300/mo because Walgreens said they had to charge the insurance price instead of the contract price they have with Coastal! I complained to the Admin Dept about the increased charges for my office visits. I explained to Pisa Lyota-Ring up front that nothing had changed in the visits. I called her several times, but my calls were ignored. Three months later Pisa called back and told me the visits were more expensive because the care was more involved?! I explained to her this was incorrect and waited for a reply. The "reply" I got was 3 months later they sent my account to Collections! Several of the staff workers there are pitiful; Yes there are some nice ones, but you can't choose whom to go to, to get help from.
