The last time Ashford did my taxes he gave me instructions to pay THE STATE OF VERMONT over $3000 in taxes, and I am not even a resident of Vermont. I asked Ashford about this and he said "I am not sure about that but I think you should pay it". I then checked with my attorney in Vermont and he said "No one pays that". So I didn't. And guess what.. Vermont never went after me.. So, who's side is Ashford on? It seems like, when Ashford is unsure whether a client should pay a tax or not, he sides with the taxing authority, not his client! I never went back to that clown. Now I have a CPA who is on MY SIDE.
