Judge for yourself

This place has an AMAZING collection of books; rare, limited edition, or both, and signed alike. I really believe they have something for everyone However, the customer service isn't much to speak of. The owner was downright rude and may be quick to dismiss you mid sentence. PLEASE don't hold that against the store, else you might miss out on finding something really neat. Again, there's some amazing books there if you look around, but if you're looking for something in particular, you're better off going onto their website ahead of time and seeing if you can find it in their catalogue first.

Love this bookstore!

This is the first place I will look for a used book. The staff is wonderful. I live in Belfair, but will give them a call. They are always so great about checking to see if they have the book I need. I am glad to see the Proctor district keeping things interesting, and making the local shopping fun. I do miss the dime store, though... always will. Kudos to the Culpeppers for their great book store!

Great place to spend 20 minutes waiting for a dinner reservation

Wonderful bookstore with a great selection of both local history and broader interest. Check with the owner as he always has a nugget or two for an interested reader. I try to arrive early for dinner at Europa so can stop in for a quick browse and always find some thing of interest for me, my wife or little boy.

Small, family-owned shop

It's tough to survive in the book business with Amazon and all the Big Box stores, but somehow Culpeppers seems to succeed. It's a nice complimentary business to all the other interesting shops in the Proctor Neighborhood. Jerry, the owner, has focused his shop on historical type books but has a little of everything. If you're a reader you'll love to spend some time in this shop.

A local favorite of mine

They have a wonderful book selection from old leather bounds and first editions to current paperbacks. The owners are very knowledgable and fun to visit with, too and they truly love books. I try to allow at least an hour per visit. You won't regret it.

My favorite used and rare book store. Hands down.

You can always count on Culpeppers for an excellent selection of used books. Knowledgeable, friendly owners always make you feel welcome. Always good for a chat on local history. Very helpful. Have a good selection of books on Pacific Northwest history and Western U.S. history. Also nice choice of art history books. Lots of gardening and cooking books to chose from.
