Told me over the phone that they accepted my insurance. Day of my appointment, they tell me they don't accept it. Rude customer service. Wouldn't recommend.

went in at Tacoma store and was helped by Jennifer, she was sharp, helpful and very professional, did not push anything and helped me decide what would work best for me, i just took my mother Friday and she said the eye exam was the best she has ever had and she is 82!

This place is the worst have an eye emergency call them up to get in they tell me 3 hours from the time I'm calling cuz the dr. Has 2 appts and lunch. ARE YOU KIDDING ME I MIGHT LOSE MY EYE BECAUSE OF THE UNCARING OF THIS PLACE! MY HUSBAND IS MILITARY getting off work to come and take me to get this taken care of and I just wanted to basically call before going up there. But then to be told that. Then to say to well how would you feel if someone came in after you and basically took ur spot excuse me! This is a eye emergency!!!! You should always have basically a bump method to get that patient in there quick. She said hmm well you can always go to an emergency room.

Makes no sense how slow they are i have sat there for two hours without them calling my name or acknowledging me ill never go there again !!!

I went in to America's Best under the impression that I would be receiving the two pairs of glasses for $69.95 including the free eye exam. I got my eye exam & after it was over I went to the optician & brought the two pairs of frames I selected for my glasses. I was told at the desk that I would be charged $210 for my glasses because my prescription wouldn't work for the frames I selected. I was told I had to get "special" lenses AND that I would have to pay for my eye exam because I did not qualify for the special. My husband had to ask to speak to the manager & when we did, we discovered that I actually could get the glasses for $69.95. The optician did not tell us the truth and was trying to upsell us because I did not want to purchase the scotchguarded lenses he was trying to sell me. Not to mention the optician was rude & unprofessional. I would never go back to America's Best to get anything, nor would I ever recommend them because I'm not the only one they've done this to.

I've been going to America's best since I was a little girl. There is no other place I would rather go. They are speedy in the time in which they get you in to an appointment, and their delivery is quick as well. They also have styles quite relevant to today, rather than most discount eye centers who carry styles from previous seasons. They have always been nice and frendly to me, and I would never go anywhere else. Quite simply: the best place for America's contants and eyeglasses is America's best.

This has to be the rudest America's Best you'll visit. They mismanage appointment times. Your time is of absolutely no importance - just making a phone call to them for an appointment time or a perscription will give you a clue as to how you will be treated once you're there.

I think that this is a great place to go if you do not have eyecare covered by your insurance because it is affordable. The treatment of the customer is not satisfactory, but if you need an updated prescription for your contact lenses and you don't have insurance this is your best bet.

I have had a wonderful experience with the Tacoma location. My daughter was in town and having a terrible time reading. I called and they got her an appointment the next day!!! She needed glasses and I explained to their wonderful employee that she was leaving in 8 days; he put the order in and said to call in a few days to see if they were in. They arrived 3 days prior to her leaving. They are great!!!! As far as the person who had such a terrible time; I work in a business setting similar to the location in Tacoma you have to expect to look for every clinic is the same if you are late they assume that you are not coming. Also if you were to receive your contacts in 1 week why wait 2 and then call I would have been on the phone after 8 days. Perhaps you just expected the world!!! Everyone from my office uses the Tacoma store that they have always been very happy leaving there. I agree with the other person you get what you pay for. :-)

I live in California and was visiting Tacoma for a family vacation. I had just found out prior to the trip that TWO of my kids needed glasses and I needed a newer pair. America's Best CAME THROUGH!For 3 COMPLETE eye exams, 6 pairs of glasses, shipping & tax, we paid $258 OUT THE DOOR! Everyone in MY AREA said that it costs THAT MUCH just for ONE pair of glasses!The staff at America's Best was pleasant, accommodating and willing to work with my situation! They have a customer for LIFE! I hope they open one near me!For the other person who had the bad experience, don't go into America's Best expecting Tommy Bahama customer service; go in there expecting Wal-Mart customer service and you will notice that the service is JUST FINE after all. America's Best is a DISCOUNT eyecare center - they are not trying to attract Beverly Hills clientele - just remember that before you go. Expect to get what you pay for, and you will NOT be let down. I've had several not so pleasant experiences with America's best not just in the Tacoma, WA location but in the Tukwila, WA location as well. However, my last experience made me decide never to go back. After a horrible time finding parking, I walked into the Tacoma store literally two or three minutes late for my appointment, and they had decided in that little amount of time that I wasn't coming and put away my chart so I had to wait for them to dig it out again. But what I became most upset about was after I ordered my contacts, they told me that the contacts would arrive in about one week, and they would call me when they arrived. Two weeks went by and they still hadn't called me so I went there to see if my contacts were in. Sure enough, they were there, sitting in a drawer, and they would still be there to this day if I hadn't gone in. Needless to say, after that I decided to take my business elsewhere.
