This vets office is in an unlikely place that perhaps only residents of Gates County would be familiar with. It is even more unassuming in appearance as it looks like a country residence. It's a little awkward driving up to what looks like a house, no marked parking places and walking around to the front door. But upon entering it is clear it is a vets office. It's simple and rustic though I appreciated the hardwood floors as opposed to carpets or other similar materials that would trap smells and perhaps fleas.



The staff is very friendly and helpful. I have a cat that does not tolerate new places or people and I warned the staff ahead of time that he might get rough even to the point of clawing me to get away from them. When I called to make my appointment I informed the staff of my cats temperament and they gave me some suggestions to help keep him calm before hand. He is very skittish and has been known to get violent in uncomfortable situations to the point of hurting others or himself out of panic. However I knew this was a mandatory visit.



Mrs. Rountree and staff came in and approached me and my cat at a distance, cooing softly and giving him space when it seemed he needed it. They were able to guide me with tips and in the end able to keep my cat calm enough to give him two shots and even a full exam. My cat tolerated it remarkably well considering his disposition and not a hiss was uttered or a claw unsheathed. Although my cat was obviously anxious, the staff was professional and made the whole experience go as smooth as possible. My appointment was at 8:30am and I was leaving for home around 9am. The whole thing was quick, efficient and reasonably priced.



I am planning to make this my Vet from here on in. I highly recommend Mrs. Rountree for you pets basic medical needs. She has a wonderful way with animals!
