Fernangeles Elementary School is one of the schools operated by the Los Angeles Unified School District. It has more than 60 faculty members and nearly 1,100 students. Its educational and support school site programs include artists in residence program that offers regular art, music and dance classes; arts prototype that is a grant program for drama music instruction; bilingual education; and California State Department of Education-approved preschool program. Its child abuse awareness response education team addresses abuse prevention and crisis response team has on-site service providers who are supported by off-site district staff as needed to address crisis situations. The school has a computer lab staffed by a full-time coordinator, an assistant and student volunteers who provide computer instruction for students, staff and parents. It operates a special education program that provides specialized instructional programs to students with special needs. It is located in Sun Valley, Calif.
