We have had the misfortune of having both dogs get sick or hurt in the last 3 weeks. The first Friday three weeks ago we took the dog into Flowertown at 10:45 pm. The care and compassion of Dr Nathan and the entire staff was. Just incredible. Being there that late at night you figure everyone is tired and maybe you should wait to morning NOT THE CASE. Sulley was taken care of expediently and with such care we can’t thank Dr Nathan and the staff enough. A week later Rascal had a horrible hot spot on his tail that was bleeding quite a bit. Once the call and we were given an appointment that same day. Dr Nathan Gain took care of Rascal and has seen him again for follow up.thankfully everything is coming along fine. There are not enough good words to describe our families appreciation and admiration for the tremendous job being done at Flowertown. No matter which of the 4 vets you see it’s a home run. Dr David has really established a great practice in our area. We recommend Flowertown to anyone and everyone who needs a vet Thank you and keep up the great work.

Just moved to SC and a neighbor recommended this vet. I found Dr Dorsam and all his staff to very friendly, down to earth and caring. The Dr took a good deal of time to throughly explain a plan to help my dog with the terrible anxiety he is having after 2 moves within a year. He was knowledgeable but also compassionate and I love those qualities in a vet.

Wow, I am surprised at some of these negative reviews! My family has been going to Dr. Dorsam at Flowertown for quite a number of years now and he is the only vet that 1) does payment plans, and 2) is genuinely interested in helping your pet without trying to break the bank. He also listens very well and will spend extra time with you if you have any questions. Dr. Dorsam loves your pet(s) as if it were his own.

Please note that Flowertown is NOT an emergency vet! If you are having an emergency, you should go to an emergency vet! If you break your arm, you do not go to your family doctor -- you go straight to the emergency room where they have the proper equipment to X-ray the arm, do MRIs, CTs, or whatever else. Similarly, if your cat or dog is injured in a bad way, you should go straight to the emergency vet. That is not to say that Dr. Dorsam won't see you pet, but he may not have the equipment to actually do anything for you (I think they might be able to do X-rays, but that's about it).

He is a fabulous vet who will do his best to help you. I have not experienced any rudeness from his staff, but if the staff is rude to you, DO NOT let it color your opinion of the vet! More importantly, tell him if you feel his staff was rude to you! He genuinely wants to know and he genuinely wants to help. After having to take my pet to the emergency vet and paymupwards of $2000, Dr. Dorsam gave me samples of some medicine to give my cat so that I would not have to go to the pharmacy and pay for it. They also allowed me to pay my bill at a later date since I was strapped for cash. VERY few vets will do that! If you are skeptical about Flowertown, just take your pet in for a routine check-up. You will not be disappointed with the level of service or care!

No compassion

I have taken all of my animals to this vet for years, and recently had an emergency. My

Dog was hit by a car and needed to be seen ASAP, when calling first thing I told them my situation and was told that they could "try" to work him in. The lady didn't sound the least bit interested in my horrible situation, and sounded almost annoyed that I wanted I bring him in. I ended up bringing him to another vet that had no problem working him in. I'll never go back to this place.

Dr. Dorsam is the best veterinarian I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. He is well educated, polite and genuinely cares about your animal. He greets my dogs with big hugs and love and talks to my cats in the sweetest way. Anyone that has poorly reviewed him has done so because they did not like what he had to say OR were trying to go the office when they were closed: every business has business hours and that is what the After Hour vet in North Charleston is for.

In addition, the staff is the sweetest bunch of gals you ever did meet. I would give Flowertown Animal Hospital infinity amount of stars, if possible. They have gone out of their way, time and again, for my animals and family

BOO!!!

I went to Flowertown Animal Hospital up until October of 2008. I had been going there for years and I called because I had an emergency (for the first time ever). My dog was attacked by another dog and I needed her to be seen. She is a min pin and was attacked by a golden retriever (I know that sounds wierd but that is what happened). The dog had bit her around her neck and she was bleeding and acting wierd. Well since no one called me back within 30 minutes of me calling, I went over to the clinic and they said they would not be able to see me today because they were closing soon and had another dog to see before then. So I was frantic at this point and took her to another vet (Oakbrook) and they saw her right away and could not believe that my vet turned me away. They said she was in shock and needed to be watched overnight but took great care of her while they had her. They said there was no reason the doctor shouldn't have stayed a little later and seen her. I ended up taking my dog out of there after that. I would have loved to go to Oakbrook but they are a little more expensive. I am trying out Dr. Nemasket though because I have heard great things about him too. THANK YOU OAKBROOK VETERINARY CLINIC SO MUCH FOR SEEING MY DOG SINCE FLOWERTOWN WOULD NOT STAY A COUPLE OF MINUTES LATE TO DEAL WITH MY PROBLEM!!!!
