In 1921, several Arkansas rice farmers formed a cooperative business group to market crops, which is now known as Riceland Foods. Headquartered at Stuttgart, Ark., Riceland Foods is a rice miller company that provides marketing services for rice products, soybeans and wheat through its farmer-members in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri and Texas. It also offers rice products for private-label packaging and bulk rice for club stores and bulk users. Riceland is one of the largest producers of rice for the American food service industry and is a provider of rice products for consumer oil producers. It supplies rice and oil products to restaurants, fast-food chains, cafeterias and military installations. The company also sells soybeans to poultry and catfish processors and livestock producers. In addition, it offers rice and oil for bakery products, cereals, baby foods, frozen entrees, side dishes and pet foods. Riceland Foods operates a research and technical center that provides application and process engineering services.
