Heartland Energy USA, LLC was founded in 2004 by Scott & April Sloan of rural Stryker. They were heating multiple buildings on their family farm with natural gas and began investigating ways to trim heating costs. They installed an outside wood furnace and soon realized that there were other families that were also tired of the high heating costs and were looking for alternatives. They started selling outside furnaces that summer and the rest, they say, is history. Heartland Energy USA, LLC has experienced growth in the outdoor wood furnace market since they sold their first units in 2004, and is now selling heating systems in five states.
