Dr. Durand kept me waiting over an hour for my first examination and over 1 1/2 hours for a follow up following sinus surgery. I talked with a number of her patients who experienced the same problems. It seems Dr. Durand is even less efficient at managing her time than other doctors I've been to.

On my first visit, instead of treating me for my vertigo using what I call a “bottoms up approach”, Dr. Durrand used the “top down approach”. I was given a really expensive test that left me owing $900.00. On my follow up visit, she told me that everything was normal and that it is probably my sinuses; which she had mentioned the first time. It seems to me that she should have tried treating me for the sinuses the first time and then if that didn’t work, then try the more expensive approach.

That’s not the worst of it. I waited for over 1 ½ hours before being called to the back, in which I sat in the room for what seemed like forever as well. As I am waiting, I am listening to one end of a very loud and unprofessional exchange between a worker and a patient or parent of a patient. That conversation should have been held behind closed doors.

Finally the doctor came in to see me. Yes it was late, but she made me feel like she was rushing to leave or get to her next patient. Dr. Durrand is literally answering my questions about the medications she was suggesting while standing at the door with her laptop in one hand and her other hand on the door knob. She suggested some over the counter medication without telling me how often to take it or any other explanations, other than to come back in six weeks. After waiting for so long, taking all of those expensive tests, surely she owed me more than five minutes of her time despite how late it was. After all, I wasn’t responsible for the back up in the office and wanted to go home as well.
